Chanel Pre Fall 2010

Shanghai provided the backdrop for Lagerfeld’s Chanel Pre Fall 2010 collection.

Shown on a docked pontoon on the Huangpu River you can see how the pieces echo Shanghai’s rich history.

I love the Oriental prints and Lagerfeld’s take on the traditional Qipao dress.

My favourite piece though is the shaggy fur coat with the red embellished collar. I just love the contrast of these two textures.

Quilting was another theme seen here and the black quilted trench coat is such a strong piece.

I’ve been practically drooling over the Camellias embroidered leggings.

There was also a strong nod to the military theme with quilted vests, a twist on the comrade cap and khaki green.

This collection is deliciously extragvagant and is everything we expect from Chanel and then some!

The superhero boots and leggings with florets on them need to go, but overall I like the collection. Esp the green dress you have in the first row and some of the jackets are to die for. I would love to see look 67 modified into a not-so-sheer gown for someone.
