We’re well aware the music and fashion go together, now we are seeing a trend of designers collaborating with car manufacturers.
Luisa Beccaria collaborated with Citroen, now we have the French born, New York based fashion designer Catherine Malandrino.
The designer stars in a new BMW national advertising campaign which is featured in the December issues of Condé Nast publications W, Architectural Digest, Vanity Fair, Bon Appetit, Condé Nast Traveler, The New Yorker, and if you are on Style.com as often as I’m you will have seen the adds pop up there.

The editorial tells a story of Catherine looking fabulous outside her Meatpacking District Flagship boutique, and on a weekend getaway at her country house in upstate NY.
It’s a portrait of her nomadic chic lifestyle with the new BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo as her ultimate companion.

Of course she’s dressed in her own designs from her Fall 2009 collection.

The coat is stunning. Great ad, the interior of the car is gorgeous. Now i can’t envision a man driving this car, Catherine has made the car definetly a girl’s ride.
I think she’s wearing the same dress Brook Shields just wore (you can tell by the “spray” of black coming from the detail on the side). Even though the picture isn’t very large, you can tell the dress works for Catherine much better than it did for Brooke–go figure since she designed it! She really looks stunning.
