Looking at other website you’d be forgiven if you believed that only Shakira and Kate Winslet walked the red carpet at the Bambi Awards last night

Thomas Kretschmann and Shermine Sharivar were a very glamorous couple.

He wore a black suit with his shirt unbuttoned, whilst Shermine glowed beside him wearing an Armani Prive Fall 2009 deep plunging gown with an asymmetrical peplum on the waist.

The bodice stands out for more than the plunge, as it was embellished with stunning crystals.

I’m not sure about the nude clutch, but her hair and make-up suit the Old Hollywood look she was going for.

Bettina Zimmermann was another stunner on this red carpet.

Glowing with gorgeousity the actress wore a wore nude off-the-shoulder Versace Fall 2009 gown which is entirely beaded and modified from the runway.

Her look is paired with Versace heels from the same collection, and gold clutch.

I love how this gown shimmers.

Julia Stegner I ask you…why the ankle boots?

The model’s strapless midnight blue Versace Atelier Fall 2008 bustier gown with flower origami detail on the hip is outstandingly beautiful.

But when I see her pair it with ankle boots I just want to roll my eyes and say “next”.

Loving this from the ankles up.

I feel a unofficial brand ambassador post coming on.

Shakira wears Versace for her 4th red carpet appearance in a row, whilst her silver platform Versace Spring 2010 heels only get their 3rd appearance.

The singer wore a chain mail Versace Spring 2010 mini dress with an optical turquoise and charcoal grey print that made her stand out on this red carpet of luscious gowns.

Shakira later collected the ‘Best International Pop Star Award’ wearing a Gucci Fall 2009 mini dress with feathered details on the shoulders we have seen twice before on the red carpet.

She paired her dress with milky tights and black knee-high boots.

Jessica Schwarz opted for a black and white Chanel Fall 2009 ensemble consisting of a white sleeveless ruffed shirt, and a black draped floor-length skirt.

I’m sure she could’ve pulled off those arm-warmers.

Annette Weber wears the same blue ombre Valentino Fall 2009 gown we saw on Evangeline Lilly during Cannes Film Festival.

German model Franziska Knuppe was one of my favourites on this red carpet.

Her blue gown has a princess feel to it, plus I love the floral embroidered details that cascade down her bodice and the blue ribbon tied to her waist.

Kate Winslet won the ‘Best Actress Award’ at this event, but she wins most boring on this red carpet for me.

Her shapeless black dress doens’t excite me like the others do.  The only interesting part is the embellished shoulders and lace detail on the back.

Alexandra Maria Lara looked beautiful wearing a draped nude Alberta Ferretti halter gown.

What I’m missing from this look is a bit of bling, or a stand-out clutch.

Now this is what you call a mermaid hem.

Mareile Hoeppner must have Kate Beckinsale going green with envy.

There are a lot of great candidates for BDOTW, so let me know who’s your favourite.

I watched the Bambi Awards on TV yesterday and I was asking myself all the time if you would do a post of some of the looks.
Thank you so much for featuring not only British or American events but also international- in this case German- ones. :)

Shermine is stunning in that Armani gown. I did have my reservations about that much boobage on show, but bleh, she pulls it off. Also, at times, too sexy is too goood. :D
Bettina is my best dressed. I love it when simplicity in terms of silhouette, design and colour pay off. It is beautiful.
Julia Stegner, buy nice shoes woman, any shoes. Ankle Boots are hideous. All of them.
Am bored with Shakira. And those platforms on the Versace shoes are TOO big and bulky. :|
Kate, honey, I saw you in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. You wore bright colours on your hair. Maybe it is time to treat the rest of you with some colour? Yum.
Mareile, interesting gown( interesting because I cant decide if I HATE it or like it). But her breasts are, um, squished.
My BDOTW nominees from this event are Bettina, Franziska. And otherwise, my winner is Cate. <3

    Hey,
I was wondering if you could find pictures about the OTM gala, your posts are so well thought out, and you notice things I would never see.
Also its because I cant find any pictures!
Dita Von Teese, Karl Lagerfeld and many more were there.

i also think shakira looked fabulous but i seriously can’t stand those versace spring 2010 heels ! i realise shakirais a tiny woman and she might like the extra height but that platform is seriously OTT and for me is just bordering on drag….
but like i said, from the ankles up, she’s gorge in that dress :) (although my best-dressed is Franziska :)

Shermine Sharivar is gorgeous in that gown, she wins for me for this event. The nude clutch was a no.

  7. Shermine Sharivar! I would kill to look that good in that dress!

OMG at Shakira! And I thought Leona Lewis was repetitive. I hope she doesn’t carry on like this. She’s worn the same shoes with the similar looking Versace dresses too, which just makes it even more confusing. The same pose, too. Deja vu!

Not only that, she wears dress-boots combo in the press room, too. Do I detect a style rut?

Julia seems to be obsessed with ankle boots!

Franziska and Alexandra are my favourites. Both are beautiful! Best Dressed!

Do I see a designer of the week coming on? The Versace gowns on Julia S (minus the ankle boots) and Bettina are both gorg. And while I agree Shakira is over doing her look, her dress is stunning.

Nevertheless, the BD for me is Shemine Sharivar in Armani – wowza! Forget whether the nude clutch works and focus on that really hot accessory of hers, her date! As a couple, they personify glamour!

For some reason I like Mareile Hoeppner and I have the feelind that I shouldn’t. Confusing.
Julia Stegners dress is amazing. I loved it! Till i saw the shoes ofcourse.. Why couldn’t she just wear black pumps ?

Shakira’s Versace dress and shoes are awful, she looks trashy.

  12. kimi says:

Julia Stegner totally ruined that gorgeous dress. Horrible.

I also dislike Shakira’s outfits. These enormous platforms look ott and she’s really not pulling off the over-knee trend.

Love Alexandra and Franziska and thank you for proving that there are some fashionable German stars out there.

I’m just going to ignore the random nude clutch and say Shermine looks divine.
She makes the plunging neckline look classy because her dress is dark and she went with this gothic chic makeup. Seriously, BDOTW contender imo.

Bettina’s Versace dress was also worn by Jane Krakowski to the Emmy’s I believe. I think Bettina wore it better because of her alterations.

I like Shakira’s Gucci dress better than the Versace one. The Versace is too geometrical and 70’s for me. I like the Gucci’s classy drama more.

I really don’t like the look of Annette’s Valentino. Wear the criss-cross cuts off on the top and how the stuff below flows gives the allusion of a baby belly and I can’t imagine that would be flattering on anyone who’s not expecting.

Franziska was the best dressed of the event to me. It has a princess feel to it, but the drama and detail make it not feel like a prom dress.

Kate…snore. Alexandra was beautiful, but I’d love to see this dress in a color. I do see potential in Mareile’s look. If there was no orange details on the top and the mermaid was a little less, I think it would be a nice look.

Julie ruined a beautiful dress with those ankle boots WTF was she thinking? If she was trying to make the dress edgy she could have done so with a bangle, the dress is so stunning it deserved some pretty shoes.

I do not like the tights that Shakira wore with the Gucci dress.

    Shermine, Bettina and Franziska stunning.

What have Annette and Alexandra got on their left wrists please?

  16. Sissy says:

Shermine Sharivar, not going to lie, looks like a whore. That dress would be absolutely beautiful without the porn-star cutout.

    Franziska looked like a princess!

  17. Julia says:

Alexandra’s gorgeous dress was the same as the one Cat Deeley wore to the Emmy’s this year, and I do believe it is a nude version of the dress Devon Aoki wore to Cannes this year.
