Who Was Your Best Dressed This Week?

What a week.

OK, I have been less Monica Geller with the amount of people in the poll to cover your requests.

May the best dress win.

For me, it’s between Leighton and Camilla. I voted for Leighton because she’s all around fabulous.

  2. Jennifer November 6, 2009 at 20:42 #

    Talk about hard….
This week for me boiled down to one thing: who utterly OWNED the look in my eyes.

I was torn between Diane, Leighton and Camille, because they all have the attitude and pose in their photos that shout out “This is my look,” like Giselle with that Versace dress at the Costume Institute a few years ago.

I came down to Camille, because she is completely fierce… a softened hard to pull off look, with the smile and confidence to pull it off and own utterly.

  3. Isabel November 6, 2009 at 20:45 #

I love the Marchesa dress of Katy Perry, I voted her ^^ Congratulations for your web, I watch it every day :) Greetings from Spain

    • Fashion Critic November 6, 2009 at 20:48 #

      thank you.

  4. Felicity November 6, 2009 at 20:55 #

Kate Waterhouse looks divine, I can’t believe more people aren’t voting for her! My vote goes to her :)

  5. nicole November 6, 2009 at 20:56 #

omg this is hard !!! i love beyonce and i love freida so to choose between them is hard enough without adding in katy perry’s surprisingly girly marchesa and charlize who is always divine!
in the end i voted for B! the dress was made for her!
have a great weekend FC and Eleanor.

    • Fashion Critic November 6, 2009 at 21:11 #

      You too Nicole xxx

  6. lena November 6, 2009 at 20:59 #

Katy Perry. But seriously, this was the best week ever.

  7. Dana November 6, 2009 at 21:01 #

I have to go with my girl Diane again. Camilla and Katy would be runners up.

    • Fashion Critic November 6, 2009 at 21:12 #

      She deserves your vote

  8. Vera November 6, 2009 at 21:01 #

Voted for Freida Pinto: I’m in LOVE with Valintino SS’10 collection.

Looking forward to seeing the pieces from on the red carpet.

  9. F November 6, 2009 at 21:04 #

mmm the hardest choice in what, 2 years of BDOW?! :D
my fav are Katy Perry, Leighton, Eva and Diane; BUT I really dislike Leighton’s shoes and Diane’s necklace so its between the others two..
    Eva wins for me :)

love your site, keep on with the fab work!
    ciao from florence :)

    • Fashion Critic November 6, 2009 at 21:10 #

It is the hardest ever… you are so right

  10. Rosie November 6, 2009 at 21:35 #

Goodness me, this week showcased the talents of my fab five ladies – Diane, Camilla, Freida, Leighton and Charlize.

I’ve been staring at my screen for so long wondering…but in the end it came down Camilla as that look is hard to pull off.

  11. electra November 6, 2009 at 21:39 #

I have to go with Katy Perry in Marchesa. STUNNING. Beyonce close 2nd.

    My Top 5 would be:
    1. Katy Perry
    2. Beyonce
    3. Thandie Newton
    4. Sophie Ellis
    5. Kate Waterhouse

  12. mol November 6, 2009 at 21:45 #

Out of the twelve, there are ten I would be happy enough to see win, but the singular standout for me this week is Freida Pinto – my eye just keeps going back to her – lovely and soft, looking so easy and free.

  13. Kim November 6, 2009 at 21:56 #

This is the first week I have like everyone!

Usually I’m like what is wrong with these ppl for putting so and so in. Sorry. :-) LOL But this week they were all fab but looking at everyone side by side I had to give it to Katy and over the to pand tacky as she can be at times. :-)

  14. Kyutipye November 6, 2009 at 22:05 #

For me it was between Thandie and Katie. The dresses are both devine , buti don’t like Thandie’s Hair and shoes so Katie wins by a hair’s breath. Lovely collection this week!

Welcome to Eleanor! Laid my fears about you neglecting the site, to rest. Two heads (and hands) = more coverage of fabulous fashion worldwide. Yay!!!!
    Long live Redcarpet-fashionawards.com!!

    • Fashion Critic November 7, 2009 at 07:12 #

      :D thanks Kyutipye

  15. julia November 6, 2009 at 22:11 #

So many gorgeous dresses (love them all!), so difficult to choose! In the end I’ve gone with Kate Waterhouse, she looks so polished and elegant, I adore her outfit (and she’s an Aussie!). But any of these choices would be would be a worthy winner.

  16. Davor November 6, 2009 at 22:31 #

It’s very hard to make a choice this week! And that’s great! I think this will be one of the hardest choices so far. Because, so far I could, in most cases, guess who will be your BDOW, FC. This week – honestly – I have no idea! :) Camilla Belle looked so fresh, Beyonce looked like she was born with the Versace gown, Katy Perry and Leighton Meester looked so elegant and sophisticated… Uh-oh! This is hard! :) All in all, Camilla Belle was the right person to wear Alexander McQueen and she looked amazing! Fresh, young, interesting, edgy but soft at the same time and great color too! My vote goes to Camilla.

  17. Alfredo November 6, 2009 at 22:49 #

Georgina Chapman should of been included as well as Eva Longoria and Lauren Remington Platt , They could of taken Thandie Newton, Freida Pinto, or Eva Mendes’ spots. I don’t get the hype over those 3 looks, specially Freida’s. It’s nice, not bad but not great either. Charlize is repalceable as well this time.

  18. Nora November 6, 2009 at 23:22 #

I’m torn between Camilla and Beyonce! But I thought Leighton, Katy, and Diane looked lovely this week too, so hard to choose…

  19. A. November 6, 2009 at 23:28 #

    Leighton!!!

  20. Hayley November 6, 2009 at 23:36 #

This was SUCH a hard week.
I spent ages trying to choose between Leigton and Katy, but in the end I voted fo Leighton. I think her make up was flawless.

  21. Lindsey November 6, 2009 at 23:38 #

are you kidding me with this week’s poll? it’s too hard, i agree with Kim, I actually like everyone! haha. but I had to go with my love camille, she owned a dress that could have owned her. my second choice was beyonce because she also just looks stunning.

I feel bad for you this week, good luck picking a winner!

  22. Laura November 6, 2009 at 23:50 #

I can’t remember the last time I had so much doubt.

but for me its Diane. Love the dress.

  23. Nick November 7, 2009 at 00:03 #

All these women look incredible.. but i have voted for Kate because i think she is probably the only one who didnt have help of celeb stylists and brands throwing their clothes at her…but well done to all and please Freida come to Australia!!!

    • Fashion Critic November 7, 2009 at 07:08 #

Excellent point. Diane doesn’t have a stylist

      • Kim November 8, 2009 at 18:37 #

I think she needed one to tell her not to wear that necklace. :-)

  24. Boeshane November 7, 2009 at 00:16 #

Diane Kruger in Chanel Couture for me. But I’m impressed by Beyonce, and I love Eva Mende’s with all those colors. Leighton and Thandie looks gorgeous, as always.

  25. Chuntel November 7, 2009 at 00:42 #

I’m in Little Rock, AR and I love this site! Thank you so much for doing this for us! I love Beyonce and Camille but Katy Perry does it for me!

    • Fashion Critic November 7, 2009 at 07:07 #

It’s my pleasure. I happy to hear you are enjoying the site

  26. La Poubelle November 7, 2009 at 00:50 #

can we have twelve votes please FC?
i feel guilty for not voting for the rest…any other week and the would have had my vote but it had to go to Mrs Jay Z
a quick note to ALL celebs: this shows you can do it, can we see more like this more often? please :D

    • Fashion Critic November 7, 2009 at 07:06 #

Thanks for your quick note, as it’s so true

  27. Ewurafua November 7, 2009 at 00:56 #

I personally dont think Frieda, Emily and Charlize should have been included…and judging by the votes, people agree with me.

Emily’s dress was nice, but her face (make up) and hair just wasn’t cutting it.
Frieda’s shoe choice is so BORING for such a dress.
Charlize’s makeup was too gothic for such a soft dress. I dont even have a problem with her sandals. Just the hair and make up which also ages her.

I believe some of the women at the Latin Music Awards were overlooked. esp.
Marlene Favela- everything about her look was FLAWLESS, unlike some of the contenders for BDOTW.
    Voted for Camile, btw.

    • Fashion Critic November 7, 2009 at 07:06 #

I think you are being unnecessarily critical, or just being critical for the sake of being critical.

Had I not put in Fredia or Charlize people would have complained and you know it.

With regards to the ladies from the Latin Grammy’s lets just be realistic, as great as they looked none would have got more votes than any of the 12 I have added.

      • Ewurafua November 8, 2009 at 21:32 #

I honestly wasnt being critical for the sake of it. Why would I do that?

I just believe my comments have merit, and the poll results seems to enforce what I said (the 3 people I criticised were the bottom 3).

I just remembered reading the comments from the post on Charlize and the general concensus was that it was not a good look on her. I was just suprised that she was added.

And I dont necessarily think that the Latinas would not have gotten any votes. Being fairly- unknowns has never stopped anyone from noiticing great fashion. (eg. Katie Cassidy)

P.S. I noticed that you tend to pick on my comments. Have I ever said anything offensive to you, or angered you in any way?

        • Fashion Critic November 8, 2009 at 21:40 #

Normally every week, someone moans about the poll.

The one week I manage to please everyone, it was only you that seem to take issue with the list.

Yes the 3 you criticized were in the bottom 3, but like I said if I hadn’t put them in there would have been more complaints that just yours. It’s about creating a balance and not just pleasing one person.

I never said Latina’s wouldn’t get votes…geez now you are just putting words into my mouth.

Comparing Barbara Bermudo to Katie Cassidy on Melrose Place is not nearly the same.

          I don’t pick on people’s comments, it just means we don’t agree….Clearly.

  28. joy November 7, 2009 at 02:06 #

Toughest week ever!!! I really couldn’t pick. If I had to choose a winner it would be Beyonce in Versace. That dress is amazing on her. The best I’ve ever seen her look. I love the Marchesa dress but something wasn’t believable for me on Katy Perry. I guess because these two are formal gowns they take first and second place. However, I love Diane Kruger, Eve Mendez, and Emily Blunt. I thought their dresses were magnificent and any other week would have stood alone!!! Great week for fashion.

  29. TMCFS November 7, 2009 at 02:33 #

Too bad Mariah didn’t make it, not for the look itself but for the upgrade.

On that, I will have to vote for Kate. She looks very classic yet updated and contemporary.Emily also looks good in Basil Soda but Charlize was a real disappointment for me.

  30. Jones November 7, 2009 at 04:22 #

Great contenders this week, but I have to give it to Camilla Belle. She’s look so youthful, cute, and lovely in a very fashion forward design and pulls it off effortlessly. Katy Perry and Freida Pinto for runners-up.

  31. justme November 7, 2009 at 07:41 #

You know it’s bad when you actually take a piece of paper to write the pros and cons of each outfit lol. I swear they all have something that makes you go wow, it’s so hard to vote.
It’s going to be between Thandie, Katy, Beyonce and Eva.

    • Fashion Critic November 7, 2009 at 07:51 #

pros and cons list…that’s so cute

  32. yumey November 7, 2009 at 08:22 #

its too tough..hehe my fav are Beyonce,Katy,Leighton,Eva & Camilla. They all look so lovely and confident in what they are wearing. But my vote goes to Beyonce. She looks stunning! that dress was just made for her.
Oh FC why cant we vote for more than one.i feel so guilty voting only for Beyonce.

    • Fashion Critic November 7, 2009 at 08:24 #

      ha…ha…it is a tough one

  33. Ksenia November 7, 2009 at 10:35 #

It’s so easy to look gorgeous in Marchesa or Versace, for example. So I choose Eva. She fulgeres in this dress.

  34. Victoria November 7, 2009 at 11:26 #

Camilla Belle wins for me this week! :D Leighton and Diane come in a VERY close second. I would have voted for them if I could. But like you said, may the best dress win. Plus, I really liked Charlize, Eva and Beyonce too! Fantastic week! :D

  35. Yiming November 7, 2009 at 11:30 #

For what it’s worth, I voted for Charlize, because I think she managed to look glamorous very effortlessly, especially with those sandals. Not anyone can pull that off. :)

  36. Kath November 7, 2009 at 11:34 #

Wow. Best. Week. Ever. Thanks FC (and now Eleanor) for bringing such stunning looks to the computers of appreciative country bumpkins like me in good old Aussie! x x x

  37. Jake November 7, 2009 at 12:14 #

    CAMILLA CAMILLA CAMILLA CAMILLA CAMILLA!

  38. sydneycheapchic November 7, 2009 at 12:23 #

When i first saw Camilla in Alexander McQueen i was blown away… but the more i look at it the more it reminds me of Bjork’s Swan outfit… (I am probably going to be thrashed for saying that.. sorry in advance but that’s what my mind keeps going to)

I am loving Katie, Kate, Diane and Thandie.. I am also only noticing Eva now.., I love that you can see how fabulous and sexy she feels in that dress with her confident pose and big smile…… she gets my vote.

    • sydneycheapchic November 7, 2009 at 12:31 #

OOps.. i accidentally voted for Camilla anyways.. hehe…

Anyways.. not that there’s a chance that Eva will win, but she did have my vote.

  39. Jake November 7, 2009 at 12:24 #

such a difficult week! heres my top 5.

    1. Camilla Belle
    2. Kate Waterhouse
    3. Beyonce
    4. Katy Perry
    5. Freida Pinto

    def the hardest BDOTW ever!

I couldnt live without red carpet fashion awards.

thank you so much for all you do! have a great weekend!

  40. Parvati November 7, 2009 at 12:39 #

Diane Kruger in Chanel Haute Couture wins for me!

  41. justme111 November 7, 2009 at 13:11 #

I miss Ginnifer Goodwin on your final list, FC. She really owned one difficult Chanel outfit.

I voted for Thandie. She´s a class act.

Blunt, Queen B (nice gown but terrible hair) and the girl with pearl necklace are beyond tacky.

  42. YSLGirl November 7, 2009 at 13:18 #

Diane Kruger, by far. It would’ve been a hard pick with her and Camilla Belle, but I didn’t like Belle’s shoes, so Diane Kruger.

Katy Perry? Marchesa is so overrated.

  43. Rita November 7, 2009 at 13:34 #

this is so hard! i can’t choose! Beyoncé,Katy,Freida,Camille and Leighton are gorgeous.

  44. shubby doo November 7, 2009 at 13:52 #

i thought i was going to go for eva… and then i had a look at your best dressed poll for this week and i was weak…& confused!!!!

for me it was between beyonce (u have no idea how much it hurts to admit that cos i ‘ve never been a fan of her getups), katie and diane….*whispers* voted for beyonce *sighs*

good poll this week…i think everyone that should have been here for us to choose indeed was…have a nice w/e FC!

  45. Ally November 7, 2009 at 14:37 #

Such a hard one! I finally had to go with Camilla in McQueen b/c I was worried that no one would be brave enough to wear that stunning collection. And I’m sure a lot of people didn’t get it, but she looks awesome.

Have a good weekend everyone :)

    • Fashion Critic November 7, 2009 at 15:13 #

      you too Ally x

  46. Bego November 7, 2009 at 15:24 #

This was soooo hard!! voted for Diane, she looks beautiful plus she doesn’t have a stylist which makes me love each one of her looks even more!

  47. Plus Size Bras November 7, 2009 at 16:13 #

I like Freida Pinto for her great look.

  48. mm November 7, 2009 at 16:34 #

Camilla had my vote early in the week and my vote didnt change. She really pulled that dress off, not many could or would dare to wear it.

  49. Laura November 7, 2009 at 17:27 #

Talk about hard! I usually spot one person I know I’m going to vote for. This week I had to go backwards and had to find the little nuances I didn’t like so I could narrow it down to one.

From First Eliminated to My Vote:
Kate Waterhouse- The ruffles and hat together are just too much for me.
Charlize Theron- From the waist down, it’s looking a little messy and not real flattering.
Freida Pinto- Too much volume. If that bottom black part had been taken out and been nude all around, it would’ve flattered her more.
Diane Kruger- I wish she would’ve gone for more of a pop in the shoes or bag.
Eva Mendes- Just a little too disco for me.

    Now, things got really hard…
Emily Blunt- Right boob looks a little off, but I really like the look.
Thandie Newton- The black bow was a little much. But Prabal Gurung is really making a name for himself, and this dress is a good example of why.
Sophie Ellis- Beautiful LBD and nice accessories that may’ve gotten my vote on another week, but it just isn’t special enough this week.
Beyonce- Only because I wished she saved this for a better event.

These 3 I had all kinds of issues deciding.
Camilla Belle- Love the color. I’m a girl who loves color so Yay for that. Also, the dress is really edgy and she works it.
Katy Perry- Sophistication. Katy stepped it up. It’s a looker, but for the right reasons. Her posing fit the dress nicely.
    But…
Leighton Meester marries the edginess like Camilla’s with the color and flower. And still manages the sophistication with the belt and neutral color. So, she’s my winner.

But really, whoever wins I won’t be upset. Props to these ladies and the ones who didn’t make the list but were still fab for bringing it this week.

    • Fashion Critic November 7, 2009 at 19:33 #

I loved your reasons for elimination all very valid and well thought out, but I loved Eva.

It’s going to be a tough decision for me. I could realistically pick about 4

      • Kim November 8, 2009 at 18:42 #

I loved that ‘disco” look also! LOL

    • Kim November 8, 2009 at 18:42 #

      Wow!

  50. Sabina November 7, 2009 at 22:06 #

Only Charlize can make flats look good on the red carpet, and she looks wonderful in this Dior dress, so I’ll be one of the few voting for her :)

  51. Alexandra November 7, 2009 at 23:33 #

going for Katy, but I really wish I had at least 5 votes this week…

  52. ana laura November 7, 2009 at 23:47 #

    FINALLY!
eva mendes add some rainbow to her dress
and she looks absolutely drop dead gorgeous!!!

  53. rose*** November 8, 2009 at 09:58 #

CAMILLA and KATY, both looks stuning.

  54. AJoanna November 8, 2009 at 13:22 #

I voted for Thandie, even though I know she’s not going to win. She looks so lovely in her dress. So feminine. Katy is a close second, though. Even though I really don’t normally like her style choices, this time she knocked it out of the ball park
