Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Monthly Archives: October 2009

TV Presenter Jenni Falconer is a regular on the London party scene considering her job starts so early on GMTV.

Her red carpet looks are a mixture of high-end designer and high-street. She goes from Alberta Ferretti gowns for a premiere to Topshop for a launch party.

She was recently spotted wearing a charcoal sequined embellished Topshop Boutique Ice Skater dress which has 3/4 length sleeves and a jagged hem.

Jenni obviously loves her dress so much that in the space of 2 weeks she has worn it to 3 different events, each time pairing her dress with sexy black heels and a black clutch.

Her dress is available to purchase from Topshop for £120.

Award-winning British fashion designer Amanda Wakeley recently announced the opening of her new flagship boutique located at 175-177 Fulham Road in London.

The boutique is stocked full of ready-to-wear looks, plus accessories and jewelery collections.

To celebrate the opening of the new boutique Wakeley has designed an exclusive, limited edition black signature dress adapted from her new Spring / Summer 2010 collection.

Only 25 dresses are available, to mark the 25 years of London Fashion Week and they are on sale now at the new boutique.

Marion Cotillard attended the premiere of ‘Public Enemies’ in London’s Leicester Square wearing a red satin Vivienne Westwood strapless bustier dress.

Her hair was elegantly styled into a beautiful quiff, whilst a black Stella McCartney Fall 2009 embossed faux leather clutch and black peep-toes completed the look.

90210′s actress Jessica Stroup was front row with Rihanna at Vivienne Westwood Spring 2010 show in Paris wearing the same dress.

Marion wins for me because I didn’t like how limp the bodice looked, or how overly creased Jessica’s dress was, nor the purple Brian Atwood Lola pumps she opted to wear with this dress.

“Astro Boy” Los Angeles Premiere

Kristen Bell’s Oscar de la Renta Resort 2010 navy blue and white embroidered dress works very well because she has kept accessories to a minimum.

She teamed her dress with a pair of simple cut-out heels.

30th Annual Salute To Women In Sports Awards, New York

Laila Ali is defying the myth that sportswomen can’t look elegant and feminine on the red carpet, by wearing a breath-taking raspberry silk chiffon one shoulder Tadashi Shoji gown with floral strap detail.

‘Up In The Air’ Premiere, London Film Festival

I always wondered how this Alberta Ferretti Fall 2009 chartreuse gown with a black beaded embroidered overlay would look on the red carpet.

Natascha McElhone keeps the look very simple, yet I just can’t fall in love with this look as stunning as the detail is.

Rag & Bone Soho Store Opening, New York

Sienna Miller wore a Rag & Bone ensemble including grey shorts, cropped jacket and shoe-boots to the Rag & Bone SoHo store opening.

Even when she dresses down still looks gorgeous.

L’Oreal Paris Recieves Friend Of The Walk Of Fame Award, LA

Actresses Eva Longoria Parker, Andie MacDowell and Kate del Castillo attended this event as the ambassadors of L’Oreal.

Eva wore a two tone grey Nicole Miller Studio One tweed pencil dress with an asymmetrical neckline, whilst Andie was divine in a printed dress.

Kate was equally chic in a black chiffon top and wide-legged white pants.

Samantha Thavasa Special Meet And Greet With Beyonce, Tokyo

After her last trip to Japan back in August Beyonce Knowles returned sans Solange to promote her Samantha Thavasa bags.

The singer wore a Roberto Cavalli ultra mini dress, paired with Rock & Republic Celina heels

Moet & Chandon “Tribute To Cinema”, Japan

Scarlett Johansson maybe wearing a vintage Haute Couture Givenchy gown and Christian Dior heels, but I just can’t raise a smile whilst for this look.

Def Jam’s 25th anniversary celebration brought out an all-star lineup of artists who performed at the recent Vh1′s Hip Hop Honors.

Ashanti had an on-stage reunion with Ja Rule as they performed a medley of their hits “Down For You” and “Always On Time”.

She took to the stage wearing lace skin-tight pants, Givenchy Western platform sandals and a Louis Vuitton Fall 2009 blazer.

The camel and black ruched blazer has a ruffle collar which stood up on the runway.

Unlike some crazy artists who are shaving one-side of their heads, Ashanti wisely decided to braid hers.

My hairstylist told me that many girls go to her salon asking for a Cassie do, and each time she refuses to do it.

I would do exactly the same. It’s a ridiculous trend.
