Diane Kruger continued her impressive form on the red carpet last night at the “International Women’s Media Foundation’s Courage In Journalism Awards” in LA.

She was breath-taking wearing a silver satin strapless J.Mendel Spring 2010 dress with a structural cocoon skirt.

Her make-up was light, her hair was pulled back, but it was her clutch that really made a huge statement.

Her Lanvin Pop leopard clutch from the Spring 2009 collection is flashy but definitely not trashy.

Animal print can be questionable – just look at past looks of Sharon Stone for confirmation – but Alber Elbaz gave this wild look a fresh shade.

I never have and probably never will care for J. Mendel’s dull designs. I’m glad Diane Kruger completed the look with that Lanvin outfit, otherwise I would’ve been bored. I prefer it when she takes risks.

Really agree with you. J Mendel makes me yawn most of the time. But that clutch makes all the difference, and it needed a simple look to work.

Diane Krugers is so consistent, apart from a couple of looks, she has been the best dressed of this year. I think in my top 10 looks of the year so far, I have at least 3 times her.

What’s wrong with black shoes with a silver dress? Black shoes pretty much go with anything.

black shoes are predictable, and those one she is wearing look rather heavy for a “light” outfit.

    how incredibly beautiful is she?
she should have her own BDOTW cause 90% of the times she makes a public appearance she is perfection from head to toe

The only thing I love more than Dianne Kruger is how Sharon Stone is the go-to girl when you warn people about wearing animal print!

I like the black shoes – it works with the purse, don’t know exactly how to explain it, maybe they counterbalance it or something, but IMO it works. The dress is just a nicely shaped blank slate in between these two elements.

I adore her shoes…! it’s such a welcome change from the oppressive black bootie look… much more fun and youthful…

You know, looking at that clutch, I don’t think it is leopard print – it seems to be a font. Can any-one make out if it is saying something?
