Remember a time when Naomi Campbell starred in a PETA ad proclaiming she’d rather go naked than wear fur?

Well that was 15 years ago, and whilst the supermodel still looks as stunning as ever her stance on fur has changed, because she happily wore a fur trimmed coat to the “Thurgood Marshall College Fund Fashion Show” in New York this weekend.

Under her coat Naomi wore a black fitted Dolce & Gabbana dress with square toed Alexander McQueen black heels.

The supermodels change of heart may have come about after being named as face Dennis Basso’s furs.

In the campaign the model wears a series of luxurious coats made from Russian sable.

These coats sell for up to £126,750 each, so imagine what her fee was.

This is disappointing. If she cared enough about the anti-fur cause in the past, she should’nt be selling out her beliefs for money. If she didn’t care about the cause she should not have been a PETA spokesperson. I’m sick of celebrities being so hypocritical. People like Hayden Panettiere wax lyrical about being vegetarians and pro-animal to gain popularity points in the media and then she goes and design a range of calfskin leather bags! People like Naomi and Hayden and the many others who do this need to take a long hard look at themselves. I’m not saying that no one should wear leather or fur (though I would personally prefer that ) as it’s up to each person what they feel comfortable with, but you should not try and build youself up as a crusader for a certain cause tomake yourself look good and then act totally undermine yourself. *sigh* (takes breath. steps away from computer)

    Wearing fur is a disgrace.
How hypocritical of Naomi to do this. She has gone way down in my estimation.

Naked no less!!! The audacity! You either love her or hate her, but she just wants that paycheck!

She’s a model and doing her job… modelling in modelling campaigns. She doesn’t care about the message, just the picture. Like a model should.

Might I add that PETA is an organization with a mission and vision, so they are solely responsible for screening celebrities who uphold their message. A PETA ad is a McDonald’s job… Naomi did not submit an application! This only further proves what a discreditable organization PETA is. They could have skipped the Naomi ad and appropriated Naomi’s fee to pay for housing/feeding/medication for all the animals they instead euthanized, but they chose to pay the high profile celebrity instead. And I don’t blame her one bit.
