Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Monthly Archives: September 2009

Now there’ something you don’t see everyday, Victoria Beckham not wearing a dress from her own collection.

The fashion designer opted for a dress by her designer pals Dolce & Gabbana, with her favourite accessories including black cropped cardigan, Hermes bag and YSL Trib Two’s.

I thought Victoria wearing this dress was a indication that she may be moving onto Milan Fashion Week which started today, but she left London and headed home to LA.

Kherington Payne wore a silver olive green velvet Christian Cota Fall 2009 asymmetrical dress.

I love this dress. It’s interesting, it’s young and sassy, and Kherington looks to be having fun on the red carpet.

Her look was paired with Judith Ripka jewelry, a black Daniel Swarovski clutch and black strappy Stuart Weitzman heels.

Kay Panabaker’s modified Ports 1961 dress is gorgeous. I love the stunning colours, the one-sleeved effect and that beaded neckline.

What I don’t love are those grey heels.

The colour works, but the heels look a little too big for her.

Naturi Naughton said to herself that everyone’s going to remember ‘my’ name after this premiere.

Whilst her co-stars opted for cute sassy dresses, Naturi went all out wearing a stunning purple mermaid gown which I LOVE.

It’s only seems slightly OTT because of how the others are dressed, but for me she looks amazing.

This is what red carpet dressing is all about. I think I love this so much because if this was my premiere on a major movie, I would dress like this also.

Work it girl.

Ashley Tisdale’s look was super casual.

She opted for a really cute pink playsuit, which is more of a just popping to the mall look than red carpet ready.

Jessica Lowndes wore a sparkling striped skirt with a simple black tee and still looks amazing.

I love the two tone look she has going on here which work on her shoes and jewels.

Mr and Mrs Carter are so busy with their careers that they are often on opposite ends of the world.

He is currently in Paris promoting his new album whilst Beyonce Knowles is touring in Australia.

On one particularly sunny day Beyonce was spotted out and about wearing a cute Matthew Williamson Spring 2009 cream dress covered in floral embroidery details.

She paired her dress with a pink Alexander McQueen bag and blue suede shoes.

At one show she reduced the audience to tears after paying a touching tribute to a young girl with leukaemia in Sydney, Australia.

The star embraced young fan Chelsea in her arms as she belted out a touching version of her ballad Halo.

Her little fan filled the arena with emotion as she mouth along the words with her superstar idol.

This woman really has a heart of gold.

Amber Heard much like Katie Cassidy are a bunch of hot young things that are making the red carpet so enjoyable to watch.

Last night the young actress walked the red carpet wearing a white hot Paule Ka Fall 2009 mini dress with a constructed shoulder detail and a draped detail going across the front.

Many of you have express your displeasure of exposed zippers, well if you see the back of Amber dress her exposed zipper has a black trim.

I love this look which she pairs with ankle strapped Dior Couture Spring 2008 wedges and a Judith Leiber clutch.

Emma Stone opted for a hot red Alberta Ferretti criss cross spaghetti strapped draped gown, which she paired with stunning gold jewels.

I love this colour on her.

Mary Lynn Rajskub and Rosie Perez’ dresses fade into the black red carpet and black background.

I can barely see any detail on either dress.

All I see is teeth and Perez’ gold clutch.

Julie Macklowe will be the envy of every celebrity and socialite in New York, as she was the first to get her hands on the Jason Wu Spring 2010 collection.

She walked the red carpet wearing a multi print sculptural dress, paired with high heeled pumps and a silver clutch.

Karolina Kurkova delicately caressed her baby bump with a stunning silver gown from the Marchesa Spring 2008 collection.

Three quarters of the bodice was embellished, with a chiffon detail covering her other shoulder and draping through-out the rest of the gown.

Her look was paired with silver heels.

I think we could have a maternity style face-off between Heidi Klum and Karolina.

Joy Bryant sticks to her tried, trusted and favourite brand.

This time the fresh faced beauty wore a red and black print Missoni Pre-Fall 2009 modified gown which was cinched in at the waist with a red belt.

If someone has offered me this Zac Posen Resort 2010 gown with voluminous sleeves, I would have declined after seeing the runway picture.

But on Mischa Barton the gown is outstanding.

She used a large chunky gold belt and makes the gown slightly off-the-shoulder, swept her hair over the opposite shoulder as if my magic, I’ve fallen in love with the gown.

Patricia Clarkson is elegant as always wearing a one shoulder Gucci gown, with a diamante detailing which gathers the dress towards her hip.

Flawless make-up and a black Gucci clutch complete the look.

Last week Cheryl Cole and her Girls Aloud band mates put on a spellbinding show at London’s Wembley Stadium supporting Coldplay.

I thought Girls Aloud supporting Coldplay was a bit strange as their music couldn’t be more different, but Chris Martin had been speaking of his admiration for Girls Aloud in an interview with Q magazine back in July.

The girls set list included their mega hits ‘Sound of the Underground’, ‘Biology’, ‘Love Machine’ and my favourite ‘Something Kinda Ooooh’.

The girls all looks beautiful wearing gorgeous pastel Preen dresses which had been modified from the runway.

Only Kimberly Walsh’s (second from the left) dress has stayed true to it’s original colour scheme, and was no doubt the inspiration for the rest of the modifications.

Do you prefer the modified dresses or the originals?
