Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Monthly Archives: September 2009

This Alexander McQueen Resort 2010 yellow dress with a web-like lace overlay is one of those dresses you see on Style.com but only imagine seeing in editorials.

Drew Barrymore made my dream a reality by wearing this magnificent creation to the “Whip It” Premiere during the Toronto Film Festival this weekend.

I love the dress, but hate the two-tone hair, even though it does add something to the overall look.

Since you all seemed to love Beyonce and Whitney so much I added them to this poll.

Megan Fox didn’t walk the red carpet at the VMAs last night, as she was there only to present an award.

The actress purred her way through her segment wearing a black and white Antonio Berardi Fall 2009 – of course – mini dress.

I loved this dress when I saw it on the runway, with its white asymmetrical bodice and black tulip skirt.

It’s cute, fun, fresh and so very chic.

The picture is not doing Megan any favours because she looked better on TV.

Last season Tia Cibani took us to Indian, after previously taking us to Africa. This season she took us to the Far East, and what an amazing journey we had.

The show had a zen-like calmness to it. Models in very high platforms took to the runway wearing a variety of Asian inspired pieces.

Pants and top were presented, but the emphases was on dresses. We were presented with sheaths, kimono-style dresses, bandeau’s and jersey draped dresses.

Floral prints, obi belts were presented with the colour palette consisting of pinks, golds, silvers, corals and chocolate.

When reviewing the collection again on Style.com, it’s unfortunate that you don’t get to see the glorious prints on the back of the shift dresses and coats, but you can see the detail in the video below.

You can view the whole collection on Style.com.

Kristen Stewart introduced an extended clip from her new movie “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” last night at the VMAs.

She was joined on stage by Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner. Both guys look dapper – especially Rob *sighs*

Kristen looked dainty wearing a Valentino metallic beaded tulle mini dress, with a sheer yoke whilst sporting an edgy asymmetrical ‘do.

This delicate dress is in stark contrast to the edgier Rock & Republic dress she wore to the Teen Choice Awards, but I love it.

It’s a huge shame she didn’t walk the red carpet as I wanted to see more of the dress and her Rock & Republic Nika studded pumps.

The Hervé Léger by Max Azria Spring 2010 collection didn’t fail to bring us a stunning presentation of mini dresses.

The highlight for me were the denim pieces, as this is a material Azria hasn’t used before. He also used light jersey fabrics to create the iconic bandage dress, which only clung closer to the models slender figures.

To keep us interested the dresses were tie-dyed, patchworked and crochet. One white dress was slashed immediately reminding me of a similar dress Alexander Wang presented last season.

Models almost took a tumble, but thankfully they didn’t hit the deck.

See Amanda Bynes, a colour other than black works.

The actress had a rare moment of not wearing black to walk the red carpet wearing a blush bandage dress, which she paired with a BCBG Max Azria blazer and Herve Leger Black Snake-Embossed leather sandals.

Mischa Barton was the only one to opt for one of the more interesting runway Herve Leger dresses from the Fall 2009 collection.

Her dress was paired with chained heels which Amanda Bynes also wore and a silver cuff.

Hilary Duff bandage dress hugs her in all the right places.

The LDB is paired with nude pumps and a Goyard clutch.
