As she is firmly in the spotlight Cheryl Cole is launching a solo career, but don’t worry she’s not splitting from Girls Aloud.

With a new career comes a stylish new image, to set singing and being a judge on the X Factor apart.

Out go the cute 3.1 Phillip Lim playsuits and in comes Balmain and Alexander McQueen.

I hate to say that the Balmain was totally predictable, but in she does look fabulous in the bejeweled dress we’ve seen on Selita Ebanks and LaToya Luckett.

In one promotional picture she’s wearing an Alexander McQueen asymmetric-striped sweater dress which can be purchased from Net-A-Porter international for £825/€987,90, or the Net-A-Porter US site for $1,655.

Her new single is called “Fight For This Love” and her upcoming album “3 Words” (guessing they are ‘I Love You’) will no doubt be a huge success, as her management have picked the right time to push her out on her own.

Cheryl’s single cover (left) and album cover (right) was shot by one of the fashion world’s most respected photographers, Nick Knight.

I love album cover which shows her wearing an incredible sculptured net headpiece with oversized rose corsages.

The single which appears to target the relationship troubles she had with husband Ashley, will be released on October 19th, but if you want to have a listen click here.

Thank you. It would have passed me by as I was so engrossed in Fashion week so you did me a huge favour.

Balmain can be rock and roll but also can be (most times) hooker-ish and that’s dangerous for her, she can’t carry it. Cheryl has something about her overall image that makes her look a bit trashy, even head-to-toe in high fashion, so she needs to take care with her choices.

a solo career when she herself says she cant sing. im so boroed of balmain now its becoming overly predictable. plus no offence to her she just looks like a little girl playing dress up.

plus the album and single cover look very fanmade not professional looking.

I do love Cheryl, but in the Balmain outfit (I’m guessing that’s a screencap from her video?) she does look a bit dated, wearing a dress that’s been around for a while, she could have made it look different by wearing her hair up instead. I love the album cover but I think it was a bit lazy to make the single cover look almost the same, plus the hat is a bit weird, it looks quite 90s (and not in a good way!)

I don’t really like the balmain looks. It’s really a structured and edgy piece and she wears it with those big fluffy locks… Not so sure.
But the Alexander McQueen is pretty fierce, I dig.

The cover are ok. Beautiful but could do better for a cover, looks like an magazine ad.

I always have a soft spot for Cheryl but even she can’t make me love that Balmain dress - it’s amazing how something that was considered so edgy and fashion forward when first presented has become quite predictable. The McQueen is fabulous though and the cover is so pretty!!
