I’m literally running to catch my flight back to London, but I just had to bring you the Marchesa Spring 2010 collection before I left.
The Marchesa Spring 2010 collection softly embraces the drama and romance of Madame Butterfly.
As you would expect gowns galore, the next more stunning and more extravagant than the previous.
I walked around the Chelsea Art Museum muttering ‘stunning’ as I viewed each piece.
The colour palette was mostly black and white, with mint green, ivory and lilac pieces also presented.
Many pieces had exquisite beaded and embroidered detail, whilst others had corsages, ruffled bodices, tulle skirts, flared skirts, real illusion panels – not the ice-skater kind – and draped sleeves.
It wasn’t only gowns that were presented.
There was also an embroidered obi jacket paired with black shorts, and cute little cocktail dresses.
Here are some of the detail shots I took. They include hand-painted tights, feathered eye-lashes plus shoes and booties by Christian Louboutin.
The clutches are from Marchesa’s debut accessories collection.
Celebrities who attended the show were Blake Lively, and Becki Newton.
It was the perfect way to end Fashion Week.
See you on the other side.

Beautiful!
I can just see Taylor Swift eyeing up the short gold dress that’s on photo number 6 of your photo album
Thank U for the Beautiful Pictures!
There’s nothing I can’t love! as usual, marchesa never disappoints * sigh *
They remind me of ice-skating costumes – - but in a good way.

Wow, FC!! I think we would all totally understand it if you took some days off after so much work!!
It’s been impressive, thank you so much for such a hard work!! I hope it was tons of fun too!!
Wow it’s simply gorgeous!
Must have been great being in NY this week! Thx for all the pix and tha great coverage!
Alright…
These pictures make me so upset – that never in my life will I own a single one of those dresses. Not even a single thread from one.
I loved the mint green minidress… Can imagine someone like Diane Kruger wearing it to great effect, but methinks Diane might choose another stronger colour.
so many of the gowns remind me of beautiful presents, prefectly wrapped and adorned to the point you just dont want to open it. I love the cocktail dresses the best.
i run out of superlatives! STUNNING! can’t wait to see them on the red carpet ^^
I love how over-the-top girly Marchesa is. There were some amazing gowns there. Loved the peach/nude color one. I hope a couple of these show up on the Oscars.
