Prabal Gurung already has a strong celebrity fan base which includes Demi Moore (she’s worn his pieces twice) Rachel Weisz and of course Zoe Saldana who introduced his collection to the world wearing a jaw-dropping red dress.
You would think with such a fan base Gurung was in his 5th for 6th season, but this is actually only his second collection.
Rachel Zoe was in attendance so the anticipation was HUGE.
If there was a hype before hand Gurung not only lived up to it, he surpassed it.
I tried to contain my excitement viewing this A-Mazing Spring 2010 collection, it really had that wow factor with every piece. As I said on twitter, it’s easily my favourite collection so far.
As we walked around the trendy loft the collection started off with neutral colours. It moved onto cobalt blues, then a explosion of red which almost had me weak at the knees.
The collection had mix of both masculine and feminine pieces, which both playing off each other.
I noticed a lot of bows, and black features on nearly every piece.
My favourite piece was the cobalt blue dress, which swirl around the models body. Charlize, it has your name all over it.

Gorgeous!! I love them all!! <3
OMG!! what a beautiful collection! I also love the blue, the bow’ed tops and the red draped cocktail!
Why do this models look like they are about to cry?
My favourite is the bright blue short dress with the abstract shoulder detail: quite reminiscent of the Preen power bandage dresses, no?
I like the collection, but it isn’t exciting me. It probably did more seeing it in the flesh, I can imagine the dresses were all extremely luxurious!
*Loving the cobalt pieces* I can see very cute white dresses in the first pic too, I completely understand your excitement!
We want to know what YOU wore!
Black flared jeans and a dusky pink embroidered top
I also love the blue with the shoulder detail, the bow details and the one shouldered black and red… gorgeous!!
I commented this morning but for some reason it didn’t go through
.
I think there are a few really interesting pieces here and my first thought was Diane Kruger. Esp for the blue cocktail dress with the shoulder detail and the white pokadot dress with the bow.
I LOVE that nude and black coat … can’t wait to see the collection on the red carpet!
oooh me too
Wow, what a great collection! I love the very first one – with the sort of bandage chiffon, and the one shoulder red dress with black detail.
Thanks for making me aware of this designer.
you are very welcome
This is a great collection, indeed!
The models all look so skinny and miserable
I don’t like this.
