Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Monthly Archives: August 2009

When I saw Diane Kruger was inside the September 2009 issue of Glamour US magazine I had to scratch my head and wonder, with these pictures why was Jessica Simpson picked as the cover girl.

No offense to Jessica, but I’m more likely to pick up a magazine with Diane on the cover than Jessica who is more tabloid than high fashion like Diane.

In Diane’s editorial she wears a stunning Alexander McQueen harlequin blouse, and houndstooth pants whilst lounging on a chair.

The rest of the editorial is below featuring Diane wearing Prada, Miu Miu, Christian Dior and Michael Kors.

Diane was in the recent Grazia Australia magazine. If anyone has that magazine could they please send me the article.

Diane should take the red carpet “Inglorious Basterds” Amsterdam for tonight.

I wonder who she will wear.

I love Balmain. As a result I’m obsessed with anything with shoulder pads.

Thankfully the high street have embraced the bold shoulder to fuel my current addition.

I have Zara’s Balmain-esqe blazer, a few H&M’s Balmain-esqe dresses, and a few Topshop padded tops.

You would think that because of my love for Balmain, I would go gaga over Madonna wearing a Balmain Fall 2009 bejeweled dress in the video for her new single “Celebration”.

I didn’t, because frankly Madonna bores me and she has done for a long while.

The last single of hers I liked was ‘Human Nature’, and that was back in 1995.

It was a smart move for her to wear a Balmain dress to cause a stir in the fashion world as Balmain is so hot right now, but I still don’t like it on her.

Someone young and fresh like Rihanna would have been better suited to wear this dress.

Madonna’s dress is paired with Christian Louboutin Supre Fifre over-the-knee corset boots, which are the same boots Lindsay Lohan wears on the cover of the September 2009 edition of Elle UK.

I’m sure many of you will think she looks fierce, but I’m so numb to her.

After narrowly missing out on the readers choice Best Dressed vote, Ashlee Simpson arrived at the “Melrose Place” LA Premiere Party this weekend wearing a red and white Elise Øverland Resort 2010 printed mini dress.

The dress was accented with a black waistband and a black trim on the bodice.

To complement these details Ashley wore black peep-toes and carried a black D&G Micol clutch.

I would have like her shoes to be strappy, another than that this is another good look for Ashlee.

*Sighs*

Jessica Stroup is so cute. I always love what she wears and this is no exception.

The “90210″ actress opted for a sleeveless Jenni Kayne Fall 2009 silk cobalt blue cowl neck mini dress, which she paired with black Jenni Kayne sandals.

This girl can wear a bin liner and still look great. The colour is fab on her, and I just love the wider belt she wore with this dress.

Jenna Dewan is the least known to me at this event, but she does her best to change that by wearing a ‘look at me’ strapless Hervé Léger by Max Azria Spring 2009 grey dress with neon stripes.

She admittedly look great in the dress, which she wears with grey strappy sandals.

It’s official. I’m in love with Katie Cassidy.

She wowed me last week wearing Balenciaga, now she looks out-friggin-standing wearing a shimmering navy one-sleeved shoulder padded Brian Lichtenberg Fall 2009 dress.

I HAVE  TO OWN THIS DRESS.

I usually hate anything with one-sleeve, but as my chin is on the floor I’ll make an exception in this case.

The hair, the clutch, the dress, the shoes, the make-up. Everything is perfection. What a way to start the week. She leaves me breathless.

I feel a girl crush coming on.

Oh and no, I don’t think she’s wearing a bra under that dress.

She teamed her dress with Bebe Desiree leather caged sandals & Swarovski clutch.

Jessica Lucas’ gave us plenty of va-va-voom wearing a black leather Ina Soltani Fall 2009 dress.

The leather v-front strapless mini dress has a ruched waist detail which made the look more interesting.

Black strappy sandals completed her look.

Daphne Zuniga in the middle stood out from the trio of original cast members, wearing an electric blue Nicole Miller racerback cocktail dress with black sandals.

Josie Bissett on the left wore a LBD, whilst Laura Leighton on the right opted for a black halter-neck Elizabeth Mason Couture dress with a stand up collar.

“Melrose Place” was my life many years ago – as well as “Degrassi Junior High”.  I was devastated when it was canceled. I hope the new breed do it justice.

Radio 1 DJ Fearne Cotton was spotted leaving BBC studios on Saturday wearing a very colourful Olivia Rubin Fall 2009 silk tunic dress with black ankle boots.

The black round neck dress with cropped sleeves was covered in contrasting coloured square panel designs, which were featured heavily in Olivia’s Fall 2009 collection.

I love this dress because of the colourful squares.  They really pop against the black background.

What I never noticed before is that Fearne has so many tattoos. One one each wrist and ankle, plus she has one on her neck.

Who knew she was such a bad girl?

The 26 year old British designer has quite a following.

Cheryl Cole, Lily Allen and Fearne Cotton are all fans of her statement party dresses, which are both colourful and stylish.

Her Fall 2009 collection features sharp peplums, structured silhouettes and unique prints. They are girlie girl pieces with a bit of an edge.

Olivia Rubin’s dresses can be purchased from Asos.com, my-wardrobe.com or Olivia Rubin London.
