Celebs wearing pants on the red carpet is far from being a new thing, but I can’t help but notice how often they’re being worn lately.
Evan Rachel Wood kick off the recent trend wearing a midnight blue Gucci suit to the “Swarovski Crystallized Concept Store Opening” in New York.
Sienna wowed us when she has attended “GI Joe” premiere’s and photocalls wearing Loewe, Dries van Noten and Gucci pants.
Diane Kruger does the masculine look like no other, and when the now pregnant Penelope Cruz lost her suitcase at Heathrow airport she opted for a red Bottega Veneta pant suit for her red carpet look.
I’m totally loving the pants trend on the red carpet at the moment, it’s really refreshing and interesting to see how these stars interpret their looks.
I’m the sort of person who usually only gets excited about a look when it has a 4in train behind it, but I guess the tide is turning.

I love Evan Rachel Wood’s look. The colour, the cut, the collar. Awesome.
And more than just seeing pants on the red carpet, it is who is wearing them. Of course, Diane Keaton loves them and older actresses tend to wear them. But here we have the “now” fashionistas wearing them. I like it for the change of pace.

i knew penelope was pregnant! it was just so obvious. her whole body changed so fast.
I guess I’m not with the times, but I just think these suits look terrible, especially Evan Rachel Wood and Sienna. I like pant suits, but these just look too tight and shiny and ill-fitting. And E.R.W.’s makeup is terrible. Also, what’s with the big piece of fabric draped across the crotch of Penelope’s pants?
I can get on board with Diane Kruger’s outfit as she looks amazing, as always. I just don’t get the others. (Sorry to everyone who loves these).
