Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Nicole Miller designs grace the red carpet at the 36th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards on 4 different actress making Nicole Miller the designer of the night.

Brittany Allen from “All My Children” dazzled on the red carpet in an ultra chic black strapless dress.

The rest of the ladies wore gowns made of Nicole Millers signature techno metal.

Veteran soap actress Renee Jones from “Days of Our Lives” looked elegant with her classic updo wearing a fitted one-shoulder pale lime green ruched gown.

Britney Allen’s co-star Denise Vasi also wore Nicole Miller, but opted for a bit of glamour in a fitted techno metal stretch gown in gunmetal grey.

And finally Victoria Rowell from “The Young and the Restless” wore a Nicole Miller signature techno metal ruched gown in gold, which gave us plenty of va va voom.

This weekend Paris Hilton was at the “Maxim Presents ’09 Hometown Hotties Finalists” at Wasted Space in Las Vegas.

I was putting Paris’ picture next to the Balmain Fall 2009 picture when I burst out laughing in realization that she was actually wearing the Bebe sequin striped party dress, NOT the Balmain dress as I had assumed.

I made the assumption because surely Paris can afford to purchase the Balmain dress, unlike musician Brittani Senser, who I had never even heard of until she wore that Bebe gown.

I suppose just because you have the money for a $10,000 dress, doesn’t mean you can’t rock a $179 dress.

Paris doesn’t look bad in the dress, and I would bet she doesn’t even know it’s a Balmain knock-off.

Her silky ruffled hem closely resembles the Balmain Fall 2009 strapless dress as it has the same black ruffled asymmetrical skirt, plus the black stripes on the silver sequin dress are flowing in the same direction.

The only difference is the quality, price and the fact that the Balmain dress is strapless.

“Ugly Betty” actress Vanessa Williams hosted the 36th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards last night.

Not only did she host, but she also sang and danced her way through the award show, reminding me that she can of course sing and she isn’t just an actress.

My favourite gown was a strapless maroon column gown from Gustavo Cadile Fall 2009 collection.

The colour and the complementary accessories make Vanessa sparkle, as the gown skims her stunning curves.

Other looks included an eggplant plunging gown with a black sheer overlay.

For a performance with dancer Gilles Marini, she changed into a shorter golden dress with an embellished neckline, paired with silver strappy heels.

Her outstanding moment came wearing a white figure hugging Herve Leger gown, with scoop neckline embellished with stones.

A fine host if I ever saw one.

For a very long while Sharon Stone was on my top 5 worst dressed women in showbiz list.

Since the 2009 Cannes Film Festival that has all changed.

It’s like she’s finally accepted that she not 25 years old anymore, and is dressing with less leopard print and more sophistication.

Sharon attended the 2009 Rudolph Valentino Awards in Italy this weekend, and I must admit I was totally blown away.

The actress who usually only wears Dior, looked exquisite wearing a strapless spiral Armani Privé Fall 2009 bustier mermaid gown with black embroidered sequin details.

No wonder her host couldn’t help but kiss her to show his appreciation of her exquisite beauty.

Can’t believe I’m gushing over Sharon Stone.

Although I do appreciate Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s style, they never appear to be having fun but that changed when they arrived on the red carpet for “Opening Ceremony” Japan reception party wearing Maison Michel Fall 2009 lace ears with their ensembles.

You may remember Lady Gaga wore these same lace ears recently.

Ashley wore the Mickey Mouse lace head band with a black fitted The Row Weatherby dress with a cream coat, her favourite Prada studded heels and Ralph Lauren tortoiseshell sunglasses.

Mary-Kate opted for the Rabbit Ears with her interesting black dress by a Japanese designer.

Her Toga Fall 2009 long sleeved dress had lots of texture with ruffles, pleats and layers.

She wore her dress with Prada Spring 2009 heels, and both girl carried Prada Fall 2009 bags.

It seems they both have a love for Miuccia Prada’s accessories.

There’s no way Kirsten Dunst’s could top the Olsen twins looks, but her look was also far from safe.

The actress looked like a maid wearing a high neck black mini dress trimmed with white lace and black ribbons.

A Chanel purse and black lace-up peep-toe booties completed the look.

This is not my favourite look from Kristen, plus the Chanel bag seem too big and a bit much for her look.

Humberto Leon the Creative Director of Opening Ceremony, actress Rinko Kikuchi and Carol Lim the CEO of Opening Ceremony walked the red carpet together.

Rinko wore a black double strap mini dress with exposed zippers.

I love the smokey eyes, and her sleek bob which has grown out from the shorter bob she was sporting earlier this year.

She wore her dress with the very popular Chloe Sevigny for Opening Ceremony multi buckle wedge booties as worn by Chloe herself and Leighton Meester.

Carol Lim was wearing the same Opening Ceremony Lantern dress Alexis Bledel wore to the Teen Choice Awards, but Carol’s is black and blue, whereas Alexis was blue all over.

Designer Alexander Wang and model Erin Wasson look so hip it hurts.

Erin gave us her usual “I just threw this on” look, wearing a taupe tank top with leopard print shorts and black ankle boots.
