Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Monthly Archives: July 2009

Lesile Mann blossomed in a raspberry twill tiered bustier dress with a pleated skirt from the Martin Grant Fall 2009 collection.

The colour is outstanding and she stands head-and-shoulders above the other ladies who walked this red carpet.

Her look was paired with a Judith Leiber clutch, Fred Leighton jewels and Christian Louboutin Very Galaxy fuchsia peep-toes.

This is a very long step down from Elizabeth Banks’ stunning looks at Cannes Film Festival.

The usually well-turned out star was let down massively by her hair which was excessively back-combed to make it resemble a lion’s mane.

The dark roots are killing her too.

It’s a huge shame because her elegant MaxMara LBD with an asymmetrical neckline is gorgeous, as are her heels.

Anna Faris wore pale yellow dress which neither excited nor disappoints.

Toni Collette should have remembered the “Take one thing off before you leave the house rule” because those leggings are really working against her.

Again this is a shame because her chic embellished Sass & Bide dress worn with a large waist belt, is such an unexpected fabulous look for her.

Her dress was paired with a Jimmy Choo Rumer clutch and

Kate Winslet is very much a girls girl. I don’t think I have ever hear a bad word said against her. Everyone loves her, and what’s not to love. She is beautiful, down-to-earth and refreshing honest.

These traits make her the perfect cover girl for Harper’s Bazaar’s August 2009 issue.

On the newsstand cover – which I prefer to the subscriber cover below – she looks gorgeous wearing a Michael Kors white crepe one-shouldered dress. Inside the issue she talks about her reputation, drugs, her breasts and nudity. Here are some extracts:

On her breasts: “If people are noticing my boobs in a movie and saying they do what real boobs do, then that’s great. I’ll be 34 in October. I can’t keep getting away with it… people have seen enough of my bum and my boobs. I have to put them back.”

After all the hullabaloo about Madonna and Whitney Houston wearing a grey leopard print Dolce & Gabbana dress on the same day, you’d think that no celebrity would be seen out in this dress again.

Jordin Sparks had no such problem wearing the infamous dress whilst performing her new single “Battlefield” on the “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” show last night.

Maybe she wore the dress because there is no such thing as bad publicity when you have an album to promote.

Her sophomore album “Battlefield” is in stores today, and if people become interested in her album because of talk of this dress, it can’t be seen as a bad thing.

She looked stunning in the figure-hugging dress which she wore with black YSL patent studded sandals.

Vera Farmiga, who is the lead actress in this movie, looked stunning wearing a Versace Spring 2009 white silk one-shoulder gown with a heart shaped and zipper detailing on the bodice.

The gown was paired with nude leather zipper sandals, a metallic gold paillette clutch and Versace Fine jewelry.

Her hair was elegant styled into a chic updo and I would say the look was head-to-toe perfect, but the heart detail on her dress looks a bit crushed, but it’s always difficult to achieve runway perfection.

I’m not sure who’s idea it was to sex up little Miss Rossum, but I like it.

Earlier this week we saw Emmy Rossum wearing a black structured Ungaro dress, and for this premiere we get more of the same.  An edgy urban look via this Phi Fall 2009 high-neck dress with a paisley print and exposed zipper.

It kinda has a biker feel to it don’t you think?

I’m glad she opted out of the long leather gloves, the tights, and the belt, but I would have loved her to have worn her hair in a slick back tight pony.

Here is a first red carpet look of Ciara’s new shorter do.

Personally I don’t like it. Mostly because it feels like a quick reaction to Rihanna’s recent crop.

The singer wore black leather skinny pants with a gold sequined Gryphon racer back tank top.

I’m not quite sure what’s going on here, but I know it don’t like it.

Kim Kardashian opted for a strange Proenza Schouler T-shirt bustier dress which looks like she has a black tee shirt under a white strapless dress.

The dress is paired with a YSL cage belt and YSL trib two heels, but even they can’t save this look.

Kim’s make-up is usually flawless, but on this occasion I can’t say I love it.

Can I get a Woot woot?

I feel like doing a mini dance in celebration of Victoria Beckham returning back to colour.

An impeccably dress Victoria landed in London yesterday wearing a Loewe ensemble consisting of a dusky pink low cut blouse with black embroidery, and a white pair of high-waisted canvas sailor pants.

She wore trademark shades with her hair was sleeked back, and her look was complete with grey YSL trib two suede heels and a dove grey Loewe bag.

Victoria is a huge fan of the bags and hats from this collection, so I’m glad she has embraced the clothing to because it’s so underrated.

I hate to play Dr Phil here, but does anyone else notice that Victoria’s burst of colour has come at a time when her husband has returned to LA after his loan spell at AC Milan?

Welcome back VB. We missed you. *prays she keeps this up*
