You may remember a few months ago I did a post on Spring 2009 vs Zara’s Spring 2009 collection.
Looking at Primarks Fall 2009 collection, I couldn’t help noticing how similar many pieces are to looks on we saw on the Fall 2009 runways.
The most striking was Primark’s blue striped sequin dress (£22).
This dress bares an uncanny resemblances to the one-shouldered Balmain dress which Luisa via Roma sell for €10,773.

This wide shoulder floral tea dress (£15) is gorgeous.
The shoulders resemble both Balmain and Marc Jacobs’ Fall 2009 dresses we saw presented on the runway without the steep price tags.
I really love this dress. In fact I prefer it to the runway looks. I’d camp out early for this dress.

This fur coat styled with a thick black waist belt took me back to the Michael Kors Fall 2009 collection full of luxurious pieces.
The Primark coat cost £30. The Kors coat? A whole lot more.
The sad thing is I bet these beautiful Primark pieces will fly off the shelves before we even get a chance to try them on.
Below is the rest of the Primark Fall 2009 look book which seems to be inspired by Gucci, Lanvin and Balenciaga.
What do you think? Inspired pieces or cheap imitations?

blue dress cheap imitation, but for the price it is very nice. tea dress is GORGEOUS will have to buy that and the coat i must have that. the rest is also lovely, i will have to make sure i get to my local primark and hopefully get a few pieces.
My sister works at at the Head Office and she gets a priority on the clothes before the customers *Dances in celebration*
I honestly dont know why people frown upon Primark when the clothers are fabolous and affordable and TBH I prefer the Primark clothes rather than the Desighners
It’s official I hate you LOL
Please let me know when that floral dress is due to come out. I HAVE to have it
Yep sure thing
Hey just chatted to my sister and she said that the fall line should be in stores in early September.
Hope you get te dress!!
thanks so much.
I will stalk them then.
thanks, cant wait til september. september and november will be very hectic months this year lol.
If only it were available in the States!
I prefer these to the runway versions, also! They seem worth the money, too, and more something you could wear for real life.
They’re definitely imitations, but I’m not against them. For most people who can’t afford the actual designer pieces (like me!), these are a great alternative.
If only I could get out of the states next fall, I’d camp out with you!
I just hope they actually go into production. Sometimes you see these great pieces in magazines but they never actually make it to the shop floor.
you make a very good point
I love them! They’re good imitations!
great alternatives for us brits in times like these!
i don’t know if the shoes are part of the collection too but they look a lot like what models wore during jason wu catwalk.
wow. these primark pieces are AMAZING! AND SO CHEAP! i want that fur coat! <3
Why pay more when you can pay less for something almost identical, right? LOL
I love the blue dress!!!
Can we get buy them online when they come out?
they don’t have an online store unfortunately
Definitely cheap imitations. The prices are much more drool-worthy, though I hope they get an online store soon so we can buy them online!!!
primark oxford street is a nightmare! and we never see such nice clothes for the guys!
primark uses cheap labour from third world countries who gets paid next to nothing. the profit margin is huge for primark.
Hi guys
love this blog and visit it everyday, but this is the first time I am leaving a comment.
Just wanted to inform you I went to my local Primark in London after reading this post, and those cute suede peep toe booties are there, also the grey snakeskin blouse which you can see on the pics. They are selling out quickly though.
Also, it means all those pieces arrive to stores earlier than planned so we need to pop in often!
hey Marlena,
Thanks for the information. I’m going to start going more regularly.
The tea dress and the Balenciaga-like outfit are AMAZING. And so affordable! I wish I could buy it.
