In Amber Rose’s Closet – Matthew Williamson Neon Heels

Kanye West’s lessons on ‘how to draw attention to yourself’ were studied well by “girlfriend” model Amber Rose.

She was spotted on Thursday night leaving “The Villa” in LA with a new vivid aqua hair colour.

To match her new ‘do she also wore aqua sunglasses, zippered leggings and a Timex watch whilst she posed for the paparazzi. Even her cigarette box was in the same aqua colour.

She obviously didn’t think she was bright enough because she added a neon yellow top and Matthew Williamson Spring 2009 neon yellow/python heels.

The heels do work with her crazy outfit, but she has ruined those heels for me forever.

I don’t mind the pop-up thingies, really! I like how you use your pictures in a “responsible” way.

Amber Rose is an utter mess.. She is starting to get on my nerves. I wish the whole ott 80’s trend would go away already!

What pop-ups? Seriously–never see them, but I will happily add to the praise for the Fashion Critic–your site is fantastic and your efforts well appreciated..

And I love me some Amber Rose. I love to see stylish folks getting it wrong sometimes as well as right. As lovely as I also think Cate Blanchett is, for example, her persistent perfection doesn’t always lend a lot of excitement to the festivities.

I actually like her look here. It’s funny! 🙂

I like what she wears, she is a dramatic dresser and she conveys it well and she is so pretty and has a banging figure. Thank God for her it’s refreshing when people dress like that, this is fashion expressing yourself through what you wear.

As for the comment about the pop- up ad I think you answered them both correctly, Keep up the good work I love your blog it’s my favourite and your doing what your doing to get by x.

Well I must say I love the shoes, and Amber herself is just crazy – but what in the world is going on with the model picture of the shoe? Couldn’t they find a model that could actually fit the shoe? Makes an expensive item look cheap..

I don’t see the big deal over the pop ups. They don’t bother me and I sorta figured there has to be a reason why it popped up so no fuss here.

    Back to Amber….That’s all.

I usually think she looks cute but this is HIDEOUS. Some sort of rainbow brite meets neon all wrong from the 80’s!!!!!!

  8. robbie July 7, 2009 at 16:07 #

i personally dont see the fuss over the pop up ads, it is just easy to click close. like FC has said she cant afford to buy every single picture from agencies since they charge outrageous prices.

as for amber, she ruined those shoes for me it is far too 80s gone horribly wrong, the hair and leggings matching her hair, the denim jacket and overly trashy neon colours. this is in my opinion my second biggest fashion crime in my opinion, first one being denim jacket and denim jeans together.

i still like the shoes just not as much as i once did.

    Hi FC
Just want to say thanks again for all your hard work, dedication, commitment and professionalim that goes with your website. You can tell you’re an independent blogger because your love for what you do is so apparent, so i never thought much about those ads. how can you when your content is great. back to fashion though, how matchy matchy can you get? its like shes a teenager who dressed herself or Paris Hilton.

You are very welcome. Thanks for your lovely comment.

      Very much appreciated

Im sorry, but I love Amber! Her style is better cool, she likes but sexier and edgy, I love seeing what she wears!

    • Justme July 7, 2009 at 17:47 #

Same here. I tried to hate her cause her style is over the top, blinding, often hoe-ish but… it works for her.

  11. christian July 7, 2009 at 15:42 #

just click “close”! it’s quite simple. takes, like a second to do.

amber looks like a trainwreck gone 80s. really a shame because she’s actually very pretty.

Wow, those pop up adverts over the top of photos are really annoying.

    • Fashion Critic July 7, 2009 at 15:28 #

Since I’m now tired of addressing this issue, which has a very simple solution – click close – I’m just going to copy and paste my previous response.

EVERY single celebrity picture has to be paid for.

As an independent blogger I do not have access to a lot of picture agencies like JustJared and larger blogs who can afford to buy every picture they use.

Instead I have a deal with some agencies who will allow me to use their pictures in exchange for those pop ups to appear.

For me it’s a small compromise in order to have the best pictures from agencies that will normally charge £500 per month just for pictures. I don’t have that kind of money.

Most small blogs take pictures off sites like JustJared and credit him thinking that is OK, but what they are doing is actually illegal.

I had one picture of Rihanna wearing that denim Balmain jacket I found from her fan site which I didn’t know belonged to X17. They found it, contacted my domain host and told them to shut down my site because I illegally used 1 picture.

It happened over night and I woke to find my site shut down.

Now I make sure I use picture legally by paying for them or licensing them. If I can’t I don’t use the picture.

X17 take a lot of Victoria Beckham’s paparazzi pictures, so it’s very unlikely I will feature her again because that agency charges $50 per picture which is way too much for 1 picture.

I am a small blogger trying to build up my site to be a well recognised as JustJared. I don’t have financial backers like he does and many large bloggers – although I have had many offers – because I want to keep my site independent.

I spend a lot of time and my own money on this site, and I know you don’t know what goes into putting a site together but your comment seems a little ungrateful with all due respect.

If I didn’t have the pictures of Marion in her Dior dress – which I had to licence – you would all wonder why I didn’t include her on my site this week.

Also, it has been a while since I was in the UK, but it probably works the same way…US browsers (Internet Explorer and Firefox mostly) now let you block all pop-ups. So all you would have to do is turn that on.

Keep up the good work FC. 🙂

hey fc!! i had no idea that you were contending with so many issues with the picture licenses. the ads are a small price to pay… and at least they pop in a kinda stylish manner in photo corners. don’t mind the ungrateful comments! we readers are just spoiled! i admire both your responsible professionalism and integrity.

        • Fashion Critic July 7, 2009 at 19:29 #

          You are too kind.

          Thanks for your comment

hey fc! i just wanted to say thank you. it’s not much but i really mean it 🙂
