Red Carpet Fashion Awards

“Haeundae” is a disaster movie but there was nothing disastrous about what the two main stars wore to the press conference recently.

Ha Ji Won tucked her black pants into her open-toe booties, whilst wearing an edgy Givenchy Spring 2009 top which is embellished with large crystal details.

I love the runway look, but I appreciate that she’s tailored the top to suit her style and not be a slave to the runway look.

Uhm Jung Hwa opted for an off-white silk Lanvin Spring 2009 top with a black knit skirt.

The asymmetrical top is created from twisted fabric to form this stunning piece.

The only downside for me is the necklace.

The top has such an interesting neckline that the chunky necklace feels like it is in the way. Besides you can only see half of the necklace because the other half is covered by the top.

Thanks to Sue for the pictures

Kourtney Kardashian joined her sisters at the Clevelander Hotel for a party to celebrate the grand opening of their “Dash Miami” store.

The reality TV star wore a printed Matthew Williamson for H&M maxi dress, which she accessorized with a black clutch.

Estelle wore the same dress when she attended a H&M event to unveil “The Fashion Against AIDS Collection ” in New York a week later.

The singer dressed down her maxi by pairing it with a denim jacket.

Orange pumps and a black Chanel quilted bag completed the look.

Neither have the height to pull this dress off, but I prefer Kourtney’s dressed up look to Estelle’s dressed down look, so Kourtney wins for me.

The Jimmy Choo Kase Oval Clutch has been a celeb favourite for over a year now but it has some competition from the Christian Louboutin Pharaon clutch, which is the current red carpet favourite.

It has been carried by Jessica Alba, Jessica Biel, Zoe Saldana, Heidi Klum, and Rachel McAdams to many fabulous red carpet events in black, cherry red and acid yellow.

The stunning Christian Louboutin Pharaon clutch from the Spring 2009 collection features an origami style flap closure with the signature red lining.

It’s the perfect statement clutch.

The last time I remember Marion Cotillard wearing something other than Christian Dior was as the 2008 Oscars, when she wore a Jean Paul Gaultier gown.

Last night Marion continued to promote her new movie “Public Enemies” with co-star Johnny Depp, at the LA Film Festival.

She arrived wearing a stunning figure hugging multi-coloured mosaic patterned Elie Saab Fall 2009 day dress with a cowl-neck and padded shoulders.

She oozed that chic sophistication that just makes her the breath-taking star that she is.

Her hair was styled in a classic beehive updo, and she completed her look with silver Jimmy Choo satin peep-toes and a blue python clutch from the same Elie Saab Fall 2009 collection.

Yesterday Lucy Liu arrived at the “Incognito Design” Exhibition Opening At The Whitney Museum in New York wearing a fantastically feminine Giamabattista Valli Spring 2009 cream strapless dress, with a heavily ruffled detail which sits on the bust.

I’ve loved this dress the second it was uploaded onto Style.com and since Lucy has worn many Valli pieces I was confident that she would wear this dress.

Unfortunately I’m not totally blow away as I thought I would be. She look gorgeous but I’m a bit disappointed by her hair.

A pony with a few strands framing her face isn’t quite the picture I had in mind. More like a classy updo.

Maybe I’m being overly picky.

A peachy clutch and bow-front Christian Louboutin heels completed the look.
