Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Monthly Archives: June 2009

Every time I feature Anne Hathaway on my blog she’s usually included in the Best Dressed of The Week poll which 9 times out of 10 she wins.

She’s always impeccably dressed without a hair out of place.

Last night at the “Twelfth Night” 2009 Shakespeare In The Park Opening Night Gala, Anne arrived on the red carpet wearing a stunning gold Marchesa Pre-Fall 2009 strapless pleated organza dress with a beaded waistband paired with champagne peep-toes.

I love the dress but it looks better on the model.

Also I can’t get passed Anne’s messy hair.

Emma Watson said in her Teen Vogue interview that “There’s nothing interesting about looking perfect”.  I disagree perfection is beautiful, perfection is what I admire and usually we always get this from Anne but not in this case.

Anne was probably more focused on her performance last night, but she should have taken time to run a comb through her hair.

Here is a first look at Madonna’s Fall 2009 ad campaign for Louis Vuttion as she reprises her role as the face of brand.

She’s of course wearing the bunny ears which she sported at the Costume Institute Gala plus a magenta dress with voluminous sleeves and a poufy skirt.

I don’t know about you but this picture is over photoshopped for my liking. She’s barely recognizable.

The only thing that hasn’t been retouched is the monogram bag.

The first text I received this morning said “Michael Jackson is Dead”.

I thought it was some sick prank until I turned on the Sky News.  I couldn’t believe what I was seeing.  One of our last living legends had died.

Yes this is a fashion blog and I should only be talking about fashion, but I’ve loved Michael Jackson my whole life that I wanted to pay him a tribute.

He has made us smile over the last few weeks wearing Balmain and Givenchy better than many fashionista’s, and aside from David Beckham he was the only man to have a whole post to himself.

I was so upset when his concert ticket sold out in record time, now that sadness turns to mourning.

May he rest in peace.

TW Classic Festival is now in its tenth year, many see it as the unofficial start to the summer season.

This years line up included Motor, Tom Helsen, Keane, Moby, Depeche Mode, Basement Jaxx and Duffy

Duffy album “Rockferry” has become a classic so it’s no wonder she was invited to join such big artists at this festival.

The Welsh singer belted out her hits single for the excited crowd wearing a brown leather waistcoat, a blue tank and peachy high-waisted Chloé Spring 2009 scalloped shorts with a self-tie fastening at the waist.

I like how Duffy brought a bit of high end to a rock festival, but I really don’t like her blue tank. It ruins the overall look for me, which is a shame because everything else works.

A pure white version of these shorts can be purchased from Net-A-Porter International for £785/€994.

Jennifer appeared on the Late Show With David Letterman wearing a lilac Valentino Spring 2009 draped dress with a navy jewel encrusted waist belt.

Unlike most stars who arrive at Letterman, Jennifer opted to wear a coat over her gorgeous dress. Yes it was the middle of November and no doubt cold but if everyone else can arrive sans coat then so can Jennifer.

Kat DeLuna wore the same shortened dress when she arrived at the “Conde Nast Traveler Hot List Party” in New York City during April.

Like Jennifer the singer opted for black peep-toes with her dress.

Jennifer did look great on the Letterman show, but I have to give this to Kat as she seems more confident in her dress.
