Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Monthly Archives: June 2009

TV personality Terri Seymour arrived at the “Women In Film’s 2009 Crystal + Lucy Awards”, last week looking drop-dead gorgeous wearing a RM by Roland Mouret Fluro dress with a pleated neckline.

The stunning dress flattered her amazing figure and the colour really popped against the red background.

Opera singer Katherine Jenkins posed pictures when she arrived on the first day of Royal Ascot 2009 in England earlier this week, wearing the same dress in an eye-popping fuchsia pink colour.

This colour is sold exclusively at Browns Fashion.

Her slim-fitting fuchsia pink dress matched her Philip Treacy hat with giant pink blooms. Nude heels completed the look.

In the posed picture above you’ll notice that Katherine tuck in the triangle shape detail on the neckline to show-off her cleavage *envy envy*, but in when she’s walking around the course the detail is back in place.

Both ladies opted for a bold colours but I adore Katherine pink version, plus her hat is amazing so she win this for me.

The coral dress and the pink dress are both available to purchase from Browns Fashion for £850/€1,006.75/$1,396.38.

“L.A. Candy” Book Signing, LA

Returning to her natural roots Lauren Conrad signed copies of her book “L.A. Candy” By Lauren Conrad for fans at the Grove yesterday.

Sporting a familiar hairstyle the former ‘Hills’ star wore a satin black mini-skirt, black Louboutin’s and a tie dyed batwing sleeved blouse.

It is me or does Lauren seem sincerely happy?  I guess not having to film the Hills is a welcome relief for her.

Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen Premiere, Sydney

Isabel Lucas split from her co-stars to promote “Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen” in Australia this week.

Whilst Megan Fox was dazzling the crowd in a bright fuschia pink Armani Privé dress, the Australian actress opted for a black embroidered Marchesa Fall 2009 jumpsuit.

Eh??? Jumpsuit I hear you say. Surprisingly this is a jumpsuit or a playsuit as I like to call the short versions.

On Isabel it’s hard to appreciate the embroidered detail because her playsuit has a black lining the runway version doesn’t have.

Tights, Jimmy Choo Tahiti glitter peep-toe pumps and a black headband completed the look.

Headbands will never been the same after Paris Hilton overused them during Cannes Film Festival.

‘Coco Avant Chanel’ Australian Premiere

Lara Bingle opted for one piece from the Chanel Fall 2009 collection to attend this premiere.

Her black bouclé jacket had white and black ruffled cuff detail, but thankfully not the white collar.

I don’t think the collar would have worked with her casual look of jeans and YSL ankle boots.

Carol’s Daughter Hand And Foot Spa, New York

Rihanna attended this opening wearing a very smart ensemble.

She teamed a sexy figure hugging slate grey A.L.C Twisty dress with a tailored Preen Hawk wool blazer and cute polka dot peep-toe heels.

It’s such a shame her wild hair is such a distraction from all that’s good about this look.

“Late Show With David Letterman”, New York

Jada Pinkett-Smith looked outstanding wearing a figure-hugging khaki Dolce & Gabbana strapless bustier dress with metallic skyscraper heels.

Jada’s body looks amazing and this dress full appreciates her stunning figure.

It looks like she has eased up on the weights which I’m very thankful for.

Celebration Dinner Honoring 2009 Los Angeles Film Festival Keyote Films, LA

Here’s another Dolce & Gabbana dress, this time it black and worn by Scarlett Johansson.

I love the ruched detail which runs down the front of her fitted dress and the cute puffy shoulders.

Gold satin peep toe pumps complete the look.

Hopefully we’ll see her wearing more colourful dresses in the future.

“Bruno” Paris Premiere

For some reason Isla Fisher’s reminds me of a mermaid in her strapless sea-green embellished Julien McDonald dress.

I think this is one of her worst ever red carpet looks.

The dress is looks like something you could pick up in a market plus her hair and make-up are just awful. Hugely disappointed in her.

Who’s bad? Michael Jackson thats who.

As much I as I’ve loved his Balmain and Givenchy looks, he kills this look with those leopard print pants tucked into his boots…oh and that mask.

Yesterday Michael was spotted leaving a medical building in Beverly Hills wearing a very expensive Balmain studded jacket from the Spring 2009 collection, with the Fall 2008 pants and a Balmain mens printed tee.

As much as I don’t like this look I’m still intrigued to see what he wears next.

This is Megan Fox’s 6th “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” red carpet appearance including photocalls.

The majority of you will never like her no matter what she wears, but for the rest you must admit this is a stunning look for the actress.

Sporting a 50s sleek wavy hairstyle, bright red lips and gold leaf earrings the actress wore a fuschia print strapless Armani Privé Fall 2007 dress.

The modified version should be no surprise as it’s much sexier than the runway version therefore suiting Megan’s overtly sexy sense of style.

Her look was complete with merlot Christian Louboutin Bianca platform pumps which I added to my favourites this week.

I love the look.  Do you?

Best Dressed Award
After the CFDA Awards red carpet, the CMT Awards didn’t have as many wow moments.

Jennifer Nettles was by a very long mile the Best Dressed for me.

The singer glowed in a champagne Rachel Roy Fall 2009 strapless bustier dress.

I love the asymmetrical hem line, the gathered detail around the hips and way she elegantly styled her hair.

The only downsides for me were the clutch and the tie-dye Brian Atwood pumps.

Predictable, but Still Cute Award
Taylor Swift loves to sparkle on these occasions and she did wearing a Collette Dinnigan Resort 2009 mini with shoestring straps and a tiered skirt.

Her look was perfected with a pair of metallic Prada jeweled platform heels, and her hair elegantly swept back into a side bun.

Best Use of Colour Award
Singer and dancer Julianne Hough opted for a tiered coral Jenny Packham Spring 2009 cocktail dress.

The colour is gorgeous on her, she really stands out on this red carpet.

I love embellished details on the neckline.

Her look was completed with champagne coloured Guiseppe Zanotti heels which had a jewel detail.

Most Surprising Award
I’m glad Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson opted for this cute Elizabeth & James blue floral strapless tulip dress.

Just because she has a very athletic figure it doesn’t mean she can’t wear this floaty, ethereal look.

I would’ve loved to have seen her hair pulled back.

Best Rock Chick Award
Sheryl Crow wore a black tuxedo jacket and a cowl neck black top, but she added leather pants, studded heels and a necklace featuring mini skulls to toughen up her sexy look.

Expected More Award
Martina McBride opted for a grey tunic dress with an embellished neckline which looks fabulous on her but normally the singer goes all out.

This feel like something she just threw on.

Worst Colour Award
Whilst almost everyone else opted minis to show off their summer tanned and toned legs, Kellie Pickler opted for a Badgley Mischka Pre-Fall 2009 gown.

I love the embellished neckline and the cut of the dress does wonders for her figure, but this has to be the worst possible colour.

She should have opted for something more bright and colourful to match her sparkling personality.

Worst Hair Award
I’m not particularly loving the high neck long sleeve nature of this dress, but what I really don’t like Laura Bell Bundy hair.

I’m not sure if they are hair extension – although they very much look like it – but the style is quite hideous.

Worst Dressed Award
Model Karolina Kurkova wore a black Azzaro Gentleman’s Tux dress with Aldo ‘Seace’ black leather ankle boots.

For a premiere, screening, or gallery opening in New York this would have worked, but for the CMT Awards cute colourful sparkling dresses are almost mandatory. This work doesn’t work for me at all for this event.
