Winona Ryder graces the cover of  Elle UK’s July 2009 issue, shot by Matthias Vriens McGrath.

On the newsstand cover, she wears a nude tulle Dolce & Gabbana corset, and on the subscribers cover, she wears a simple black American Apparel top.

In the interview, Winona talks about childhood bullies, leading roles, beauty and her latest film, “The Private Lives of Pippa Lee”.

On Being Bullied: “We only shopped at the Salvation Army, and I would get these three-piece, 1970s little boy suits. I had really short hair, and the third day of seventh grade, these kids basically jumped me in the hall because they thought I was a gay boy, and they roughed me up… I think when that happened, I kind of went into a movie in my head because I couldn’t deal with what was happening. Kids would say, ‘You’re a witch, you’re creepy, you’re crazy.’ I was in the number-one movie in the country and I was still being bullied in school.”

The FiFi Awards, is fragrance industry’s equivalent to the Oscars, where Paris Hilton was honoured with “Female Celebrity Fragrance of the Year” award last night.

This is the first time in a long time that I love what Paris is wearing.

Out goes the billowing dresses, and jeweled headbands, and in comes this Georges Chakra Fall 2009 Couture purple dress, with draping, navy bows and jewel encrusted details.

She completes the look with her favourite Gina heels.

Who would have thought Queen Latifah and Paris Hilton, would share the same taste in designer?

Queen Latifah befit her regal name, by looking breath-taking wearing a charcoal grey lame dress, from Georges Chakras’ Fall 2009 ready-to-wear collection.

I love the sleeve that drapes over her shoulder, and the smokey eyes.

Along with Paris, she is up for Best Dressed of The Week.

Senior Vice President & Creative Director of Estee Lauder, Aerin Lauder, opted for a blue Lanvin leopard print dress.

This is not an easy look too pull off, but I would have worn it without the belt.

Mary J Blige wore a watercolour print Roberto Cavalli maxi dress, with the signature gold serpent.

Her gold drop, emerald stone earrings, complemented the look perfectly.

Hilary Rhoda wore a beige strapless fitted Jacques Fath dress, with a peplum at the waist, plus an origami pleated detailing trimming the neckline.

As much as I love her dress, I also love her gold chandelier earrings, and her black Jimmy Choo strappy sandals.

Unfortunately Kate Walsh’s look is really not working for me.

Not the lurex pink Hugo Boss dress, nor the hairstyle.

MoMA’s Party in the Garden, Memorial Day fundraiser weekend lasted for four days. The Tuesday night event, featured performances from DJ Cassidy and Estelle.

The Brit singer arrived wearing an Alexander McQueen printed dress from the Spring 2009 collection, with a black leather belt, black peep-toes and a bronze cuff.

If you’re thinking it’s the same Alexander McQueen dress Camilla Belle wore to the Push LA premiere, I would say you’re half right, because it’s the same print, but not the same dress.

Camilla’s was more fitted, whereas Estelle’s is longer and drapes at the front.

Estelle performed a 45-minute set, wearing a modified Rachel Roy Spring 2009 dress.  The major modifications were the tribal print bodice, and the nude blouson sleeves.

This softer, delectable look, is a huge contrast to her edgier red carpet look, and it’s a look I much prefer.

She kicked off her set with her single “No Substitute for Love”, and then worked her way through some classic soul, and a cover of Coldplay’s “God Put a Smile Upon Your Face.”

She finished her performance the only way she could, with her smash hit “American Boy.”

Designer Catherine Malandrino invited many fabulous guests including Mary J Blige, Dita von Teese and Garcelle Beavuious, to the grand opening of the Catherine Malandrino Maison Store in West Hollywood, last October.

The designer picked the best gown from her Spring 2009 collection, which was a very elegant nude gown, with multi chain detail draping from the neckline.

Singer Cucu Diamante, who could easily pass as a distant relative of Catherine Malandrino, as they have the same look and colouring, wore the same dress to the People En Espanol’s “50 Most Beautiful” event in New York earlier this month, in a slate grey colour.

Both woman look outstanding, as they picked wisely. Catherine soft and feminine. Cucu darker and more mysterious, with a pop of deep pink on her lips.

Catherine wins for me, as she glows in her on-trend nude gown.
