Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Monthly Archives: May 2009

It’s been a while since a featured an Australian event, and I’m happy to see our favourite Aussie girls are on top form, despite the tights, but I believe it’s their winter time at the moment.

At first glance I thought Delta Goodrem’s embellished mini dress was Balmain, but it’s actually from the Collette Dinnigan Spring 2009 collection.

Her look is completed with YSL Trib Two boots, and a black clutch.

Singer Jessica Mauboy braved the weather, and showed off her pins wearing a studded and embellished Collette Dinnigan Spring 2009 mini, with a black jacket from Dinnigan’s Fall 2008 collection, which has Sergeant Pepper detailing.

Erika Heynatz opted out of being a ‘Dinnigan darling’, and instead wore a Louis Vuitton Spring 2009 ensemble, sans the Spicy heels.

The skirt from this look is incredibly short, so the tights are not a surprise.

She completes her look with Louboutin ankle boots.

Lara Bingle wore a dove grey long dress, with very interesting swirls, plus matching YSL patent heels.

Kate Moss’ newest summer collection for Topshop goes on sale tomorrow, and here’s a sneak-peek at what you can purchase.

Kate was inspired to create the everything a girl needs for her summer vacation.

This includes floaty kaftans, cotton playsuits, colour pop jeans, silk maxi’s, fringed waistcoats, and Kate’s signature chiffon printed dresses.

Also part of the collection are 50s’ style bandeau bikinis and gladiator sandals. Beachside chic will never look so good.

Prices start at £18 for a vest, to £130 for a sheer Moroccan blouse.

Isabelle Huppert continues to look great on the red carpet.

Her look is authoritative – as the head judge – yet still feminine and ultra sophisticated, case in point her Armani Prive Spring 2009 black skirt suit.

I love the structured details.

Asia Argento is a very sexy woman, which shines through in her black Alberta Ferretti Spring 2009.

Robin Wright Penn created a sensation, as she oozed glamour in her midnight blue shimmering gown.

Simple drop earrings completed the look.

Valeria Solarino opted for a kaleidoscope of colours, wearing a Roberto Cavalli printed silk gown.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were spotted in Cannes late last night, so it’s safe to assume that they will both take to the red carpet for Brad’s Inglourious Basterds premiere later on today.

Of course I’m looking forward to seeing what she wears on the red carpet, but lets look back at previous years.

In May 2007, I fell off my chair when Angelina arrived at the Ocean’s 13 Cannes Film Festival premiere wearing a yellow Emanuel Ungaro gown.

At the 2008 Kung Fu Panda Cannes Film Festival premiere she wore a Max Azria Atelier green gown, whilst proudly showing off her baby bump.

How do you think she will sway this year?

Colour, or tried and much tested black?

Myleene Klass has come a long way from being a member of the now defunct band Hearsay.

She’s now a well regarded TV presenter, and the very popular face of retailer Marks & Spencers.

The gorgeous star is the presenter of CNN International’s movie show, The Screening Room.

It was this show, which she was presenting during Cannes Film Festival yesterday afternoon.

She was wearing a nude full skirted tulle Zuhair Murad Spring 2009 dress, with navy Louboutin peep-toes.

I love the navy embellished details, which adorn the bodice and skirt, plus I like that she wore navy peep-toes with this dress, as she wore all nude to the Chopard Party.

That’s 2 great looks this week. She’s doing us Brits proud.

Donatella Versace looked sensational wearing her own slightly modified Atelier Versace Spring 2009 nude paillette covered gown, to the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner nearly two weeks ago.

Her gown didn’t have the same cut-out detail as the presented gown, which Eva Herzigova wore to the Looking For Eric premiere during Cannes Film Festival.

Eva’s make-up was to heavy, plus the fuschia peep-toes don’t work for me, so Donatella wins this.
