    Voted for Anne.

Although it’s not her idea – of the look – but she outstands it.

For me it is a toss up b/w Kate Beckinsale and Claire Danes. They both look amazing.

I voted for Claire OUTSTANDING. Its a hard dision I love Georgina Champan and Kate Beckinsale in there Marchesas. I love Annes 2 because i wouln’t think of her wearing this, and i love the deep purple.

I’m torn between Anne, Iman and Marion, but I’m voting for Anne because it’s a FASHION gala and it’s hard to wear a short dress and don’t make it look like it is just another red carpet event, which is the problem with Gisele and Anja.

But Anne rocked the look, and the hair is so out of her comfort zone and it suits her so well and it is sooo sassy at the same time, I’m in love. I must say that the turquoise earrngs add a nice contrast to the purple/eggplant dress and light her face.

I love Diane, but this dress is meh, too cute-cutie for a grown up woman and she ruined it with the black acessories.

FC, I know you must ne exhausted, but if you want and could, would you post some pics of the men? I always think men are really underdressed in the red carpet and galas like this one are one the very few occasions they do dress up…

im torn between Marion, Anne and Iman.
Marion just blew me away with th elegance of the look. Anne had that wow factor and Iman is just in a league of her own she can put some of these younger models to shame.

I voted Marion in the end.

Wow….I really can’t decide bewteen the two Marchesa dresses and Claire…I am trying to look from the point of view of it being the Costume Institue Gala and not a usual afair…
BTW..I am really disapponted with Heidi …she was making pregnancy look so super glam…what went wrong..??
And is it just me or you also feel that Eva Longoria was looking super super HOT!!

I think I am going to clean my history and vote for multiple people..I apologize FC for cheating..but I can’t just decide.

I could give my vote for Gisele legs (I could kill for them!), but it’s not the point.. it’s horribly difficult choice.. I love Claudia dress, but it looks much better on georgina strojkovic…
in the end my vote goes to georgina chapman, there is no many people who can wear this and look so beautiful :)

I just can’t believe how much I do NOT agree with you on the best dressed this time! I voted for Anne, cause she looked like it wasn’t even her, but Liv Tyler… Her hair and make-up were great but the dress is blah. And here you may not agree wth me, but I really dislike Claudia Shoiffer in Versace. She does not look as bad as Emma Roberts, but it’s close.
There where so many that you didn’t even show… For example: Elizabeth Hurley in Elie Saab was hard to recognize and Oluchi Onweagba in Oscar de la Renta – whoever she is – looked so amazing.

    Dominika, thanks for your comment.

I spent most of yesterday evening and most of today updating the posts as new pictures came in all the time.

I don’t think any other website featured a much as I did, and if they did, I’m sure they possibly had a team of people, whereas I’m only one person.

The only picture I found of Oluchi was from the side, which didn’t show off the dress properly.

I’m really sorry I couldn’t feature everything you wanted, but I’m only one person with limited resources and time.

    Thanks again for your comment.

Both Marchesa’s – STUNNING. I dream of wearing one of their dresses one day.
Marion- WAY overrated. she looked uncomfortable and hair and makeup let her down big.
    Liv- too stuff, boxy, yuck.
Anja- SO cute, but not CIG material.
ANNE- MY FAVORITE! AMAZING! Loved the color combo, how she stood out, her hair, her attitude, everything!
Iman is so beautiful, I love her!

Btw, I have a dress in a similar colour to Diane Kruger’s and I was wondering what colour shoes I should wear? I had bee thinking of black, but looking at he outfit Ive decided against it.

Definitely would’ve voted for Ashley O had she been included. But Marion Cotillard for this poll. WOW. I miss her on the red carpet so much..she always looks so french and beautiful. And also (Please don’t kill me fashion gods), Gisele’s Versace dress looks tacky..the spaghetti straps and the too tight, too short factor just cheapen it. The shoes are vomit inducing as well. Kate Moss is ridiculously perfect.

    Where is Blake Lively?
she was the best dressed by far, unlike claudia schiffer , the dress is nice but the hair is the same, messy as hell.
Blake deserves. she pulled out the dress much better than the model.

the celebs are a big DISAPPOINTMENT ! the only ones who look great are marion, amer rose in that gorgeous red thing, kate bosworth and liv tyler.

jessica looks cute. i like her accessories. and i really like diane in that dress, but the black shoes are so wrong.
and then there are a few who look JUST ok.
the one half of the celebs don’t really stand out. and the other half are dressed really crazy.
    what’s with madonna ?!
    even mk dissappointed me.

kate moss looks beautiful even with that thing on her head. and anne h looks really bad, i think. bad dress and even worse hair.

Ok, sorry. I didn’t think when I wrote that. I ment what I wrote, but I should’ve put it some other way.

I really do realize and appriciate what you’re doing. I was watching pictures on Style.com and it took me almost an hour and half and I’ve been refreshing your blog every two hours since morning and was amazed how you’re doing that.
To be even more fair, you had pictures very early in the day, you even managed to make Runway to Gala post (where you have to find and frame pictures, which takes even more time), whereas Style.com put pictures in the afternoon.

Wow, long post… But I tend to talk a lot when I want to appologize someone and/or explain myself.

I absolutely hate Anne’s look. That hair?? Are you kidding me? She looks like a Southern housewife with too much hairspray who was chosen to come to a fashion gala through some contest and decided, well i needs ta get maself a shiny, short dress oh yes i do. I’m flabbergasted! That whole ..look is so tacky.

The Marchesa’s are amazing, and while Georgina looks stunning, I don’t think that minis are right for a gala (with few exceptions, that being Kate Moss) so I’m torn between the two Kates who remembered what this event is all about: outstanding gowns (Beckinsale) and outstanding personal style (Moss).

There is a good mix of actresses and models, and I tried to accommodate everyone.

Sorry if your favourite is not there, but I couldn’t make this list any bigger.

There are lot of requests for Blake Lively to be added, but I had I put her in I would have got more people asking me if I was crazy to include her. :)

FC, I would have liked to see Blake Lively as well, but I see the logic. This is a best dressed list, and the majority of them are indeed very well dressed. However, except for maybe five out of the thirteen, they are completely safe, nice looking and thus imho, not the most fashionable.

To me, in fashion and other creative areas, if you please everyone you probably played safe and didn’t try hard enough, and if you please no one it probably sucked. When the opinion varies from love and hate, I think that’s when you have actually nailed it, that to me is fashionable. Thus I consider Blake among the most fashionable at the MET, and not only did she fit the ‘model’ theme with the make up and hair, but also did something new and totally rocked it. That’s not an easy dress to wear.

That said, I think for this event, being ‘fashionable’ is more important than being ‘well dressed’, (based on my constructs) which is more relevant for awards shows and such. We should a ‘most fashionable’ list!

Not to mention Blake picks her own clothes, so we see her style and not a stylists’ :)
