Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Monthly Archives: April 2009

Jamie Lynn called it.

She said that Dita von Teese would be the first to be wear the Christian Louboutin Marie Antoinette’s on the red carpet, and she did on Friday night when she arrived at An Evening With Women: Celebrating Art, Music, & Equality at The Beverly Hilton Hotel.

She wore her pink ankle strap heels, with a pretty baby blue lace dress, which had a very puffy skirt.

The last time we saw Dita she was wearing Keds, so we can breath a sigh of relief it was just a one-off.

These $6,295/£3,975 heels were so exclusive that only 36 pairs were made. Dita opted for the pretty pink ones, but they also came in yellow and blue.

She would have been able to work any colour imo.

Thanks to Cry for point this out, but if you look really closely, the platform says:

“These are Dita’s. With love from Christian Louboutin”.

How friggin’ cool is that.

Carine Roitfeld wore her Balmain ensemble, one day after the Spring 2009 presentation, when she attended the Les Photographes Pour Patrick Demarchelier Party at the Petit Palais in Paris.

The Vogue Paris editor-in-chief, wore her lace top, and a studded skirt, exactly as it was presented on the runway, but with a visible bra, and pointy black heels.

Actress Jennifer Esposito arrived at the InStyle/Warner Bros. Golden Globe Awards After Party, wearing the white version of the lace Balmain top, with different high-waist skirt from the same collection.

Rihanna wore the same top as Jennifer, with a Boy Band of Outsiders striped skirt, when she arrived at Club Delux in L.A.

I’m not even going to consider Rihanna, so it’s left to Carine and Jennifer.

Jennifer’s look feels like a lot more thought went into it, as she didn’t just pick Look 18 from the runway. Also I really hate exposed bra’s, so Jennifer wins this for me.

Balmain Exaggerated shoulder top from Net-A-Porter £1,330/€1,595 and $2,320

Balmain Studded mini skirt from Net-A-Porter $7,830.

Here we have 2 winners wearing very similar dresses.

I kinda knew Miley Cyrus had Best Dressed Of The Week in the bag, the second I saw her wearing her Herve Leger by Max Azria Fall 2009 dress, to her Hannah Montana: The Movie London premiere.

It really was a WOW moment, despite 26% of you believing her dress was inappropriate for a 16 year old.

Kate Moss got my vote wearing a Balmain Fall 2009 dress with sculptured shoulders.

Yes I should have hated the look because of the tights, but this is one of those very rare occasions in which the tights make the look.

Kate showed us how Balmain should be worn, and I hope this scares the pretenders away from trying to own a look, that was pretty much made for Kate.
