Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Monthly Archives: April 2009

America Ferrera looked gorgeous at the Gotham Magazine Party held in her honour last tonight.

The chic cover star wore a light blue cap sleeve Malandrino Resort 2009 dress, with a dramatic deep v-neck.

I love everything about this look. The colour, the collar, the plunging neckline, the interesting square panel that draws in her waist, her hair, and her make-up.

This is the best I’ve seen America look, for a long time.

Her gorgeous cast-mates were there to support her.

Becki Newton wore the 3.1 Phillip Lim winding zipper ruffle dress, which both Kate Bosworth and Lucy Liu have worn already.

The unique semi-sheer black dress has winding, layered metal zips from the collar to the hemline, which the star wears with black pointy pumps.

Despite this being a re-run, Becki still injects a bit of freshness to the dress.

Vanessa Williams continues her love affair with Matthew Williamson’s electric prints.

For this event she wore a Matthew Williamson Ambroise georgette dress. The striking silk dress has a low v-neck, cap sleeves, and tie at the waist.

I couldn’t find a full-length picture of Vanessa, but I’ll hope that she didn’t wear black heels with this dress, vivid yellow would have been awesome.

Vanessa looks flawless, and you can too if you buy this dress from Net-A-Porter’s US site for $1,225, or the international site for £575/€690.

All eyes were on Audrey Tautou at the Paris premiere for Coco Avant Chanel, which took place last night.

Audrey stars as Gabrielle Chanel, known as Coco, before she became famous. The film, of course, features dresses from the Chanel collection. Karl Lagerfeld, Creative Director of the House of Chanel, supervised the re-creation of costumes and accessories, so we will have a magically journey through the archives.

At the premiere Audrey was, as you would expect, dressed in Chanel. Her strapless black and white floral print dress was from the Spring 2009 Couture collection.

The wonderfully chic actress wore her dress with a leather jacket, and Sergio Rossi back zip gladiator sandals. It’s hard to tell with her jacket, but her dress seems less voluminous in the hip area, than it appeared on the runway. Nevertheless, Audrey looks outstanding.

Coco Avant Chanel premieres in France on April 22, the rest of the world is yet to be announced.

Gossip Girl officially wrapped on Wednesday last week, and the stars were spotted leaving the set on a rainy evening in New York.

Penn Badgley did his best to keep his girlfriend Blake Lively dry, by holding her umbrella. What a gentleman.

You see she couldn’t hold the umbrella herself, as her hands were full with her shopping, her cute pooch, and her dazzling Marc Jacobs jeweled Stam Satchel.

The Stam bags have been around now, and they are so popular that you can’t tell the real ones from the fakes, but this is by far the most outstanding.

The bags quilts are covered in millions of sapphire blue Swarovski crystals, against dark blue suede. The bag has it’s traditional gold chain and snap closure.

Have this jewel sparkle on your arm, when you purchase it from eLuxury for $2,350.

Carla Bruni-Sarkozy is so captivating that she leaves royalty and heads of state drooling in her wake. When she attended the A.R.T-JOY-LOVE Charity Gala this month, she wore a black Chanel dress, which had a white satin front bib, with kitten heels. *shudders*

Despite Carla impeccable style, I prefer this Chanel dress on Kate Bosworth. Kate wore this dress to the 2008 Glamour Women of the Year Awards in New York last year.

I think the dress suits Kate better, she accessorized well, and she didn’t wear kitten heels.
