Red Carpet Fashion Awards

The gorgeous Halle Berry graces the cover of the May 2009 edition of Harper’s Bazaar US.

I love everything about this shoot excluding the wig.

Why did they opt for a wig?

She is perfection without the wig. I’m obsessing over the wig.

With her new fragrance in stores, Halle by Halle Berry, the love of an incredibly sexy man, Gabriel Aubry, and her baby daughter, Nahla brightening up her world. Life couldn’t be happier for Halle.

Here are some extracts from her interview:

On how her body’s changed since having Nahla: “Having a baby takes so much from you. It’s the most glorious thing you’ll ever do, but the aftermath is not so glorious! So now I’m having to exercise, eat a little bit differently, take a lot more vitamins.”

What she thinks of actresses who say they don’t work at staying slim: “God bless them if they’re telling the truth. It’s questionable if they are. I always had to diet. I’m diabetic, so it’s a lifestyle for me anyway just to stay healthy and not end up in the hospital.”

On what works for her fashionwise: “I’m not the girl for superhigh fashion because I don’t have the right body. When I want to get dressed up, I’m a Roberto Cavalli girl. Also, Dolce & Gabbana, Versace, Calvin Klein …”

On whose style she like’s: “Eva Mendes. She’s beautiful, and she’s sexy and hot, and I love her.”

Last week Gwen Stefani was spotted in LA, on a photo shoot for Elle US magazine. The singer was basking in the LA heat, whilst wearing some of the hottest Fall 2009 pieces.

Gwen is well known for her brave fashion choices, so it’s no wonder she was given strong pieces from the Fall 2009 collections of Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs, Rodarte and Alexander McQueen for her shoot.

Despite having only giving birth to her second son Zuma, eight months ago, Gwen is undoubtedly back to her slim and stylish best.

Her band No Doubt, is all set to reform after a five year hiatus. They will perform on hit US TV show Gossip Girl on May 11, and are expected to head into the recording studio later in the year.

This editorial is expected to be in the July issue. Can’t wait to see this in print.

If you watched the Paris Hilton’s search for a best friend reality TV show, you would have seen her massive walk-in closet.

It was full of many bags, shoes, clothes and accessories. But no matter how much Paris has, she always relies on her favourite clutch for most of her red carpet appearances.

That clutch is her Christian Louboutin Maykimay clutch.

Since she first stepped onto the red carpet with the Louboutin clutch for the Golden Globe Awards InStyle/Warner Bros After Party, wearing an electric blue Zuhair Murad Couture gown, she has rarely left home without it. She even carried it to the Bravo A List Awards over the weekend.

The crystal covered clutch has an embellished pump with signature red sole as pull tab, and a red lining.

You can purchase this clutch from Luis via Roma for €1,743.

When the Marchesa silk-blend embellished gown Halle Berry wore to the Oscars was uploaded onto Net-A-Porter site on Monday, it sold out so quickly, I didn’t have time to do a post on it.

Today they have uploaded Miley Cyrus’ Marchesa embroidered silk dress, which she wore to the 2008 American Music Awards.

The black and gold silk embroidered strapless dress with draped chiffon overlay, is a statement piece. A statement of style, fashion savvy and elegance.

Let the dress and the silhouette speak for itself, by choosing sleek accessories like a pair of black pumps or peep-toes, or gold strappy sandals, with a small clutch.

Buy it now from Net-A-Porter’s international site for £3,440/€4,221.56.

You may also remember that Heidi Klum wore this same dress for her InStyle December 2008 editorial.

The one thing I really admire about Sienna Miller and Thandie Newton, is that they both support designers who present their collections in London.

Despite Sienna’s being wildly known for her bohemian look, I always saw her as a bit of a dare devil style wise. So I was surprised she didn’t wear this outstanding Marios Schwab Fall 2009 LRD, as it was presented on the runway, with the embellished double-layered openings.

Sienna wore a softer, less edgy version to The Mysteries of Pittsburgh New York screening last night, matching her bright red shift dress with red lipstick, tights and Roger Vivier black peep-toes.

I know you’re tired of me questioning tights with everything, so I won’t got there, as this another great look for Sienna. I make that 2 for 2.

Lucy Liu wore a Giambattista Valli Spring 2009 sheath dress to the National Gay and Lesbian Force 2009 New York Leadership Awards this week. The dress hugely modified from the dress which was presented on the runway.

Modifications from the runway, are something a few of us frown upon, but I can hardly blame Lucy Liu for taking the modified/safe version of this silk crepe dress, with a tulle accents on the bust and skirt.

The version she picked was right for the occasion. It was dignified, and she looked stunning in her black version with smaller tulle accent on the bust.

This is one case in which the change was for the better, as I don’t know who could pull off the runway version.
