Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Monthly Archives: April 2009

Joy Bryant took a rare night off wearing Missoni, to wear this cute strapless dress, when she attended the Matthew Williamson New York store opening party during New York Fashion Week.

Joy teamed her dress with a cropped black cardigan, tights and black boots, whilst accessorizing with a black clutch, and a large statement necklace.

Ugly Betty actress Becki Newton opted for the same dress at the screening for I Love You, Man last month.

Silver bracelets, and matching silver strappy sandals completed the look.

Joy mutes the look with all the black accessories, so Becki wins for me.

When I first saw Drew Barrymore in this ruched Giambattista Valli Pre-Fall 2009 off-the-shoulder dress, with puffy sleeves, and velvet detailing, I wasn’t too keen.

The more pictures I looked at, the more I fell in love with this dress. Drew loves the dress, as she playfully poses for the paparazzi. She owns the dress, and doesn’t get lost behind those voluminous sleeves.

Wearing that sexy berry lip colour again, and her hair pulled back with a braided bun, Drew went from her Alberta Ferretti old Hollywood look, to a playful sex kitten in the space of 24 hours.

She’s very much becoming our girl of the moment.

Her look was complete with two-tone Giuseppe Zanotti cut-out patent sandals, which are available from Net-A-Porter’s US site for $650, or the international site for £415/€440.

I loved ALL the accessories from the Louis Vuitton Spring 2009 collection, which was inspired by American artist Stephen Sprouse, with a lot of African references both in colour and design.

Kelly Osbourne gave me a huge case of envy when was papped leaving Nobu Berkeley in London last night.

I wasn’t envious of her black sequined motorcycle jacket, her white tee, her black jeans, or even her gorgeous Giuseppe Zanotti studded pumps. I’m lusting over her Louis Vuitton Leopard Nocturne African Queen clutch.

What a grand name for a clutch.

The African Queen clutch is made from supple lambskin, which is printed with the metallic Léopard Nocturne pattern. The clutch features a decorative twisted drawstring with beads and a golden Louis Vuitton plaque set on wood.

This clutch is perfect for a night out.

Buy this clutch in 2 available colours from LouisVuitton.com for £1,460/€1,600/$2580.

Chloe Sevigny graces the cover of C Magazine’s May 2009 edition.

The actress wears a nude toned Rodarte Spring 2009 dress on the cover. Those nude shades are also used in her make-up, to give her a flawless look.

I would’ve loved to have seen Chloe in this dress on the red carpet, as she looks divine on this cover.

Chloe looks fabulous in all her pictures, but with regards to the rest of the editorial, I wish the ensembles would have been more adventurous

Jennifer Aniston would have been happy to wear a succession of black safe pieces, but Chloe would have looked outstanding in some Louis Vuitton, Marios Schwab, Viktor & Rolf, Peter Pilotto stand out pieces.

Last night Audrina Patridge attended the LA premiere for her movie Into The Blue 2: The Reef. She wore a cute lilac Issa kimono-style jersey dress with a cream pair of Christian Louboutin Differa 140 sandals.

Audrina is at the end of a long line of celebrities, who have fallen in love with the multi-buckle sandals.

The leather open toe platform gladiator sandal, has a closed back and triple buckle ankle straps, for a punky edgy look.

The shoes were first seen at the Giles Spring 2009 presentation back in September, and Agyness Deyn was the first to wear them off the runway.

Heidi Klum gave them their first red carpet appearance at the 2009 Golden Globe Awards, and they have become increasingly popular ever since.

These heels are currently available in gold from Net-A-Porter’s international site for £775/€895, or you can get these shoes in black from Saks.com for $1,495.

Michelle Tractenberg appears to have attended the School of Overdressing, as taught by Kate Beckinsale, who’s former student included Emmy Rossum.

She looks great, don’t get me wrong. But this gorgeous eggplant strapless Marchesa dress with a bejeweled bow detail, is a classic case of right dress, wrong occasion.

One thing you can always predict, is that Amanda Bynes will be predictable on the red carpet.

Allison Miller goes for a sweet, yet chic Brian Reyes Resort 2009 dress.

Her look was teamed with a Kara Ross clutch, Sergio Rossi metallic t-bar heels, and Ikat jewelry.

I was loving Monique Coleman’s look until I saw the wardrobe malfunction on the zipper of her pants.

Brittany Snow’s look has a spring-time feeling to it, with the pale yellow mini Erin Fetherston chiffon dress, and tie-dye cropped jacket, but the black strappy Jimmy Choo heels ruin this look for me.

Leslie Mann opted for an above-the-knee cream chiffon Zac Posen dress, with a cute ruffled neckline.
