Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Monthly Archives: April 2009

Despite a rain soak red carpet, Miley Cyrus braved the weather to attend her Hannah Montana: The Movie Rome premiere, with papa Billy Ray Cyrus.

I want to start off by saying I love this look.

Miley wore a strapless Missoni Pre-Fall 2009 floor-length purple dress, and looked really beautiful.

I love multi-coloured Kara Ross bracelets, the woven bodice, her hair and even her strappy heels.

For once she is head-to-toe faultless. So much so, she might just get her first entry into the Best Dressed Of The Week poll.

Later this week Miley will be in London. Her London premiere is on Thursday, and on Friday she will perform at the Apple store on Regents Street for invited fans.

Celine Dion’s tour wardrobe consisted of many pieces from the Balmain Spring 2008 collection.

During her concert in Atlantic City, Celine wore the same tie-dye strapless embellished Balmain dress, which Lindsay Lohan wore to the A/X Watches launch last week.

I wasn’t crazy about Lindsay in this dress, but I love Celine’s accessories and silver strappy sandals, so she wins for me.

Here are the other strapless Balmain dresses Celine had in her tour wardrobe.

This weekend, we had 3 more ladies join the ever growing list of celebrities wearing the Spicy heels from the Louis Vuitton Spring 2009 collection.

Beyonce wore the Spicy suede burgundy baby goat leather heels, whilst shopping in Soho, New York with her hubby Jay-Z.

Mischa wore her Spicy red python leather heels, with a check shirt, loose cropped pants, a Louis Vuitton Spring 2009 clutch and a LV gold buckle belt for a Herbal Essences photo call.

This is quite possibly the worst look on this page. Mischa has jumped on the bandwagon, without even contemplating whether this look works with her style.

Spanish actress Barbara Lennie wore the Spicy python leather heels with orange and dark wooden beads, to the Malaga Film Festival, with a dress from the same Spring 2009 collection.

LV campaign girl Madonna was the first to debut the heels on the red carpet, back in November last year.

Victoria Beckham said she will never be a Spice Girl again, but I bet she never realised she would be joining this group of Spice Girls.

Once Heidi Montage joins this group, we will officially know this trend has come to an abrupt end.

The heels range in price from $1540/£1,140 to $2778/£2,040 for the python heels.

Check LouisVuitton.com for the different styles and prices.

I love ‘em all.

Taiwanese actress Barbie Hsu wore a very voluminous black silk organza Oscar de la Renta Spring 2009 gown, with a tulle bodice, when stepped onto the red carpet.

I love the quiff in her updo, and the blood red floral appliqué on the hip.

She looks quite petite, but doesn’t get lost in the gown.

Hong Kong actress Monica Mok really made me swoon as she glided along the red carpet wearing a Christian Dior Spring 2009 taupe gown.

With the colour and lace details, the gown has romanticism that just warms my heart.

Both Jessica Alba and Tinsley Mortimer have worn the shorter version of this gown.

Chinese actress Sun Li wore gold sandals with her yellow Christian Dior Spring 2009 mini strapless dress.

I love her ivory necklace, which works with the seashell embellishments on her dress.

We have seen this dress many times, on Mischa Barton, and in editorials for Beyonce and Freida Pinto.

Chinese actress Tang Wei strikes a pose in this stunning red Valentino Spring 2009 one-shouldered gown.

I love the asymmetrical ruched bodice, and I’m pleasantly surprised that the gown doesn’t make her appear wider than she is. That was my worry, when I first saw the gowns from this collection.

A jeweled clutch and red strappy heels complete the look, but I’m not crazy about her hair.

You can tell just by looking at Hong Kong actress Prudence Liew, that she has a adventurous streak when it comes to fashion.

Prudence wore a lime green Jean Paul Gaultier Spring 2008 Couture dress, with a peek-a-boo bra underneath. Her hair was style in cute pin curls, and she wore Gucci Spring 2009 platform heels which are very high on my wish list.

Chinese actress Zhou Xun wowed the crowds wearing a Chanel Fall 2008 Couture strapless black and white gown.

No accessories were needed, as the dress spoke for itself.

Taiwanese actress Lin Chi-ling wore a strapless metallic chiffon pleated Marchesa Resort 2009 gown, with embroidered neckline and waist.

Lin is so elegant. I love that she wore her hair up, and accessorized with few jewels.

It’s only Monday, and already we’ve had two Balmain looks to hit the sidewalk.

The first was from Rihanna, the second from Sarah Jessica Parker.

SJP wore her satin lapel Balmain Spring 2009 tuxedo jacket, with those trademark dramatic shoulders, over her shoulders, when she attended the Mary Stuart Broadway opening night on Sunday with her husband, Matthew Broderick.

The star was decked out in all black barring her fuschia pink Christian Louboutin Bow T Dorcet heels.

Carrie would be proud of those heels.

You buy these heels from Barney’s. They also come in ivory, black, and gold, but I adore them in pink.

Don’t you think her and Matthew look strangely cute together? Her is high fashion, him in his cute bow tie.

Jennifer Beals star of The L Word, made the greatest effort for this event.

The stunning star walked the red carpet wearing a stunning yellow and white floral chiffon David Meister gown.

The mermaid gown gives her a stunning silhouette.

Very surprisingly Teri Hatcher is not wearing Monique Lhuillier, instead she’s wearing a spaghetti strapped Notte by Marchesa gold lamé tweed dress.

Her whole look was golden, from her jewelry, to her clutch, to her heels. Heck even her body bronzer is gold.

I adore Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ bright orange Michael Kors Fall 2009 sheath dress, with a sexy slit going up the side.

I love the coral pink lips, and the fact that none of her accessories are black.

The orange box clutch, gold jewelry, and nude peep-toes complete this fantastic look. I’m gushing.

Andrea Bowen for once looks absolutely outstanding wearing this purplicious silk moire Rebecca Taylor strapless dress.

I love the sweetheart neckline, the pleating on the skirt, the lighter blonde hair and her shimmering pink lips.

She looks fabulous.

Kathy Griffin has been surprising me lately. This is the second time in a row I’ve loved what she is wearing on the red carpet.

This pretty pink Dolce & Gabbana Resort 2008 dress is gorgeous. Plus I love the fuschia bow, and those fuschia pink Louboutin’s are to die for.

What I hate is her hairstyle. Nothing will make me love that hairstyle. It’s like a mullet gone horribly wrong.

Rebecca Gayheart’s one-sleeved LBD by Kaufman Franco may look quite plain and simple from the front, but it has a very sexy leather strapped detail on the back.

Brenda Strong wore a red satin David Meister strapless cocktail dress with bow accent at the waist.

Her ruby lips complimented the dress.

Portia de Rossi wore tan shoes with her red asymmetrical Michael Kors dress, which wouldn’t have been my choice, but she makes it work.

Ellen DeGeneres does her laid back chic look, which works so well for her.
