Runway To Front Row At Givenchy – Amber Rose In Alexander Wang & Louis Vuitton


Kanye West and his girlfriend Amber Rose were in Paris attended the Fall 2009 shows.

I don’t know much about Amber – even goggle doesn’t know who she is, so if any of you can enlighten me, I would really appreciate it.

The couple attended the Hussein Chalayan, Sonia Rykiel and Givenchy shows, she wore an Alexander Wang Spring 2009 dress.

The risky dress is completely sheer, with a few strategically placed black embossed swirl coils. Another feature is that the mini dress has cut-out thumbs at the sleeves.

I have only seen 2 other girls wear this dress, and they included Erin Wasson, and Sarah Harding.

If you have the guts to wear this dress, you can buy it from Barney’s for $995.


Amber completed her look with Louis Vuitton accessories, which included an updated Limelight clutch for Spring 2009, and a pair of black tribal heels.

Not my cup of tea, but she is working the hell out of this look. Kudos to her.

Lucy Liu & Michelle Obama Kick Off The Clear Belt Trend


Just last month we were marveling at the genius of Lucy Liu’s clear belt, which she wore with her pink Lanvin dress to the 2009 Film Independent Spirit Awards last month.

The belt gave Lucy a nipped in waist, whilst giving more shape to her dress, whilst not ruining the draping effect.

We should expect this to now become a trend, as Michelle Obama wore a Sonia Rykiel clear belt with her Michael Kors dress, and Dear Cashmere cardigan on the recent cover of Oprah’s O magazine.

Many of you asked me where you could get a clear belt from when Lucy wore it, and I still can’t find one anywhere. Give it a month or two, I am sure we will see plenty in stores, thanks to Mrs O.

Update: Sydne found a clear belt with black piping on French Connection’s US site & Anissa found one by Steve Madden.

09.03.09 Social Events of The Week

Roberto Cavalli Paris Boutique Opening

Diane Kruger starts the week off on a good note, wearing a chain-mail Roberto Cavalli Fall 2009 dress, with an asymmetrical hem.

She completes her look with her hair pulled back, a fur shrug, a gold clutch and black boots.

She is another actress who continues to improve on perfection.

Milla Jovovich’s white embroidered Roberto Cavalli Spring 2009 dress looks really cute from the front. I love the lace yoke and the black ribbon detail.

From the back, it looks like she is wearing a nappy (diaper).

Not a great look, but very cozy to sit on I would imagine.

French actress Roxane Mesquida wears a strapless Roberto Cavalli Spring 2009 mini dress, which is very similar to the dress Miley Cyrus wore to the Clive Davis Grammy Party last month.

The difference here, is that the black, white and grey print, plus the embroidery on back of the ruffled skirt, plus the wearer, makes the dress appear classier.

Will the real Adriana Lima please stand up?

I don’t think I have ever seen Adriana look so plain and reserved. Normally she’s wearing an ultra short mini, her hair has that ‘just got out of bed’ look, and she’s giving us that signature pout.

If you are wondering what happen, she got married.

Why do these chicks get married, or start dating someone, and lose their identity?

Runway To Launching "Reebok Top Down" – Leighton Meester In 3.1 Phillip Lim


Since the first set of pictures surfaced of Leighton Meester promoting Reebok, I was hoping it was some kind of joke.

Unfortunately now that she is officially promoting the brand, it’s become a terrible reality.

Leighton launched the Reebok Top Down sneakers, at the Hearld Square Lady Foot Locker this weekend. *shudders*

She was wearing a 3.1 Phillip Lim Spring 2009 ruffled layered dress, with black Reebok high-tops, like it’s the most natural thing in the world, and this makes me quite ill.

Call me a snob, I don’t care, but it’s still the worst match up in brand history.

Why couldn’t they’ve made her some cute wedged sneakers like the one’s Victoria Beckham wore to throw the first pitch for the LA Dodgers back in 2007?

Lanvin Fall 2009




Lanvin’s Fall 2009 was created for the chic modern woman, who likes a lot of black.

I would kill to wear every piece, but after the colourful Spring 2009 collection, I was yearning for more colour from this collection. Their was one red 40s inspired suit, with a peplum waist – peplums appeared on many pieces. A few neutrals, steel blues, and grey features, but they were very few and far between.

Fur was featured heavily, with fur trims on coats, and fur stoles wrapped around models.

I loved the dresses that had ruffles cascading down the hip, and the strong silhouettes of most of the pieces. This collection will be a hit, regardless of the colour palette.

Oversize necklaces, feathered hair bands and long black leather gloves, were the main accessories for this collection.

Who Wore Victoria Beckham Collection Better? Victoria Beckham or Selita Ebanks


Victoria Beckham wore this stunning navy dress from her own Spring 2009 collection, when she went out to dinner with her husband in Milan back in December

The fashion designer wore those YSL Trib Two heels, and a Balenciaga clutch.

Selita became the second supermodel to don Victoria’s design’s, and she becomes the second model to wear it better. I much prefer this dress with strappy sandals.

Victoria loses this because of the Trib Two’s. I wish for all of those shoes to be rounded up on placed on a bonfire.
