Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Monthly Archives: March 2009

This has to be one of the worst dressed events I have ever featured on my blog. The only person who’s head-to-toe look I liked was Kristen Cavallari, with her cute strapless ombre Rami Kashou Fall 2008 dress, peachy heels, and Mary Norton clutch.

In a room full of young girls, I am surprised they lack any real style.

Heidi Montag’s Stella McCartney dress is to be expected, which is a short and breast revealing.

Her hair looks like a bird is about to nest in it, but her Louboutin’s and Bottega Veneta Impero satin clutch are cute.

Stephanie Pratt polka dotted dress is cute, but why did she decide to cover most of it with that huge clutch?

Tamara Mowry’s purple colour co-ordination works really well. I love the draping effect on her dress.

Please can someone give Holly Montag a one-way ticket back to idiot island.

What is this look all about?

Between the make-up, gold nails, red heels and animal print dress, I am not sure which is more nauseating.

I don’t know if it’s Andrea Bowen’s pose, the dress, or the camera angle, but something’s wrong.

Miranda Cosgrove has a lot of personality, and I feel this animal print dress is showing that off, so I can’t be mad at her. Her boots look amazing too.

I am so surprised that singer Jewel make the effort put on a LBD for this D list event, it hardly look like it was worth hobbling out of bed for.

Elie Saab’s Fall 2009 presentation, gave us the expect – long sophisticated red carpet gowns, plus a different approach to elegant day-wear with graphic cuts, silk prints and structured lines, all with his signature glamour. Long, lean looks in monochrome and two-tone, present a modern silhouette.

One-shouldered pieces were a major themes of the collection, appearing on gowns and day dresses mostly with one long sleeve.

An Elie Saab collection would not be complete without a bit of bling, and he kept Beyonce happy with some gorgeous heavily embellished gowns, she will go gaga over.

The colour palette was a mix of wintery whites, silvery greys, black, dusty blue and celadon green

It wasn’t all about the gowns and day-wear, Elie also presented skinny pants, bolero’s, and cocoon shaped coats.

The collection is accessorized with strong geometric necklaces, cuffs, armloads of bracelets and a single gloved hand.

Kristen Stewart is very well known for her grungy chic. So her fans must have been a bit surprised when she arrived at the Twilight LA premiere, wearing a cute Balenciaga asymmetrical lace top dress, with her usually messy hair pulled back in a loose up ‘do.

On this promotional tour, this has to be one of her best looks. I think is because her hair is pulled back. So many times she has killed a great dress, because of her unkempt hair.

You can buy this dress from BrownsFashion for £1,095/€1,222.64/$1,567.38.

Reese Witherspoon has been heavily promoting the animated movie – which she lends her voice to – Monsters vs Aliens. Last night the film had its London premiere, which she attended with Kiefer Sutherland.

A very fresh faced Reese arrived looking adorable wearing a black Prada dress, with puffy sleeves, and embellished silver neckline. She wore her dress with black tights, and Christian Louboutin Paquita gladiators.

Even though her look is all black, I much prefer this to her previous Valentino look, as it’s even more sophisticated.

Her gladiators are available to purchase from Barney’s in black, and from Net-A-Porter.com in a gorgeous blush pink colour ($995 or £509/€595).

Chanel’s Fall 2009 presentation included many classic pieces like tweed skirt suits, long wool dresses, black and white pieces, and knits.

What was unexpected was the bold geometric bodysuits, the low belly button cut dresses, frilly cuffs, and the silk pants.

Apart from the black and white pieces, green and pink were also thrown into the mix.

What I loved the most from this collection, were the plastic Chanel bags. They had compartments for your classic quilted bag, your Chanel No.5 perfume, your sunglasses, your lipstick, your foundation compact, your iPod, and even your iPod earphones.

I can’t wait to see some carrying this bag. Lily Allen will no doubt get this as a gift from Uncle Karl.

I was so happy about Katie Holmes in her Jason Wu dress last night. I was desperate to see her full length, so imagine my disappointment to see that she wore leggings with her dress. Talk about stabbing me in the heart.

WHHHYYYYYY????? She really ruined this look for me, so much so that I wished I had never seen the full length now.

The only good thing about the full length is that we got to see her shoes. Katie wore a pair of multi-coloured Jerome C. Rousseau dragon suede pumps.

*weeps*
