Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Monthly Archives: March 2009

My love and complete obsession admiration for Tilda Swinton is no secret.

She has a kooky sense of style that I adore, and she’s one of the most fearless women on the planet when it comes to fashion.

Can you imagine Jennifer Aniston doing this editorial? Errr No.

The editorial was shot by Craig McDean, and the designers were even more outlandish than usual.

The breath-taking designs are by Mark Fast, Mary Katrantzou, Sandra Backlund, Peter Pilotto, Louise Goldin.

My particular favourite being the fuchsia Craig Lawrence creation.

We are not worthy Tilda.

Eva Longoria attended the premiere of The Perfect Game during the Guadalajara International Film Festival in Mexico this weekend.

The Desperate Housewives actress looked radiant as ever, wearing a white sweet-heart necklined Badgley Mischka Spring 2009 dress.

I love the shredded skirt, which give the appearance of feather detailing.

The bodice of dress, was modified with jewels and beads, like the black gown which was presented in the Pre-Fall 2009 collection. The two dresses modified together, make a perfect dress for Eva.

I love the tan heels, but I am not so crazy about her hair. Even with hair extensions, it’s clear that Eva’s natural hair is still in the growing out phase.

We shouldn’t be surprised that Eva Longoria is wearing Badgley Mischka, because she stared in their recent 20 year celebration ad campaign with Carrie Underwood, Brooke Shields, Lauren Hutton, and Anjelica Huston.

The New York Times Fashion Week Photo Diary, New York

Bijou Phillips caught my eye wearing a chartreuse Zac Posen Trickle halter dress.

Her metallic accessories worked well with her backless dress, which had a large ruffle detail cascading down the front.

That strand of hair is the only thing stopping this look from being perfect for me.

Eva Mendes opted for a streamlined Calvin Klein Resort 2009 white crepe de Chine pleated sheath dress.

Her Louboutin’s maroon pumps were an interesting choice, with her jewels and clutch being golden.

Liv Tyler broke up her black and white look with aqua pumps.

When Liv finally removed her Stella McCartney blazer, she revealed that her floral Some Odd Rubies dress, had a open back, with a sexy lace panel.

Fergie Shoe Collection Promotion At Nordstrom At The Grove, LA

I do like Fergie’s darker locks, but I really do miss the blonde.

For her collection presentation, the singer/shoe designer wore a cerulean Gucci Spring 2009 shirt dress, with flap pockets, leather waist band, and drawstring hem.

Her Gucci cuff, worked well with the gold snaps on her dress, and her look was completed with her self designed ‘Pepper’ gladiator sandals.

“Monsters Vs. Aliens” Press Conference, LA

This navy blue dress is very typical to Reese Witherspoon’s style.

Zara’s Spring/Summer 2009 campaign presents cute mini dresses, oversized blazers, extra long leggings, studded heels, bandage dresses, and boyfriend shirts. I particularly loved the shoes.

Before you ask, you aren’t seeing double, the pictures on the right are of Lara Stone fronting the Zara Spring/Summer 2009 campaign.

Taking a look at the pictures, I couldn’t help but feel a touch of de ja vu, so I have put them together with the pictures from the Spring 2009 runways, which I feel they were best ‘inspired’ by.

My favourites is the Stella McCartney-esqe oversized blazer and the Balmain-esqe heels paired with the Boy by Band of Outsiders-esqe blazer.

Hopefully I can find them the next time I’m in Zara, but I will guess they’re already sold-out.

AnnaLynne McCord brought her A game to this red carpet. It would have been hard not to notice her in this tight pink Dolce & Gabbana dress, with black stitched details, which showed off her perfect body.

Her look was complete with matching pink strappy sandals.

Jessica Lowndes was more sophisticated in her fire engine red dress.

I love the make-up, and the fact that she didn’t hid her freckles.

Her look was complete with gold accessories.

Jessica Stroup opted for a grey one-shoulder tight fitted mini jersey dress, which accentuated her eyes.

A touch of sparkle was added with a gold serpent brooch on the shoulder, and the look was complete with gold sandals.

Shenae Grimes black strapless dress with a ruffled mini skirt, was made more interesting with her gold chain studded belt.

All her accessories were gold and black, included her peep-toes.

You can never define Katy Perry style. On stage, she opts for bizarre looks that can include looking like an American football player, to a half bride/half groom ensemble.

Her red carpet looks equally have Jekyll and Hyde approach, but her street style is quite different, unlike Lady Gaga who takes her stage style to the streets.

Katy is often seen wearing high street pieces. We have seen her in H&M, and on this occasion when she was at The Grove in LA with some friends enjoying an ice cream, wearing a Topshop silk bomber jacket.

The silk jacket covered in multi-coloured stab hearts, is available to purchase from Topshop for £90/$180.

If you are more drawn to her gorgeous BE&D Garbo studded shoulder taupe bag, you can purchase it from Intermix for $995/716.86. This bag is also available in black.
