Social Events Of The Week

Opening Ceremony Of The 33rd HKIFF Gala Premiere, Hong Kong

Hong Kong actress, and ambassador of the Hong Kong International Film Festival Karen Mok, arrived at the premiere of Shinjuku Incident, looking adorable in her Roberto Cavalli floral gazare strapless mini dress.

The dress has raised fabric panels on the hips, with a skirt of tiered ruffles at the back.

She wore the dress with gold heels, and nude fishnet tights.

These Cavalli dresses become more appealing with each wearer.

The U.S. Fund For UNICEF’s TAP Project for The Richie-Madden Children’s Foundation, LA

Nicole Richie is a pro at boho-chic dressing.

The mum-to-be channeled her usual 70s chic in a tie-dye blood red and blue silk maxi dress.

The dress does all the talking, as she kept her accessories to a minimum.

Rachel Zoe’s floor-sweeping yellow and grey ikat Jenni Kayne Spring 2008 gown is very much on the tribal trend.

The celebrity stylist works uptown boho, with wavy blonde locks and multiple gold bracelets for that I just ‘threw this together’ look.

Lauren Conrad opted for silk nude slouchy top with cute black shorts.

Her look was pulled together with Christian Louboutin peep-toes, a black clutch and a two necklaces.

Lauren is all smiles considering her Lauren Conrad Collection has been put on hold citing the “economic climate”. I guess us shoppers don’t want to purchase a $225 tank dress, which even Lauren won’t wear.

An Evening With Neil LaBute And Friends, New York

Kerry Washington wore a Celine silk blouse with an attached beaded necklace. I love her cute tangerine and white scorpion print Sariah skirt, which sits high on her waist.

She completed her look with black pumps.

Conde Nast Traveler 2009 Awards, Madrid

Aitana Sanchez Gijon wore a black strapless Oscar de la Renta Embroidered taffeta dress, which was presented in the Resort 2009 collection.

The beautiful actress completed her look with black and diamante embellished peep-toes.

Martina Klein certainly came to dazzle in her electric blue mini dress, which was embellished with silver sequins.

The model wore grey peep-toes, with complimented her grey Louis Vuitton clutch, and her art deco diamond bracelet.

Actress Clara Lago wore an alphabet black fringed flapper-style dress, with black pumps.

I love this one-shoulder striped dress, model Maria Leon is wearing. Her fuchsia pink accessories compliment her dress well.

TV personality Paula Vazquez wore a LBD, with a peek-a-boo bodice. Her look was livened up with a neon yellow clutch, and stunning gold jewelery.

Just a little thing, the model with the blue mini dress in the Conde Nast Traveler 2009 Awards (Madrid) is Martina Klein.

    Nice post!

I’ve seen the Roberto Cavalli mini dress a few times now. Did Cavalli design the dress Victoria Beckham wore almost 2 years ago to the welcome to L.A. party? Remember? That was my most favorite Vicky outfit and for so long I wondered who designed the dress. I hadn’t stumbled to this site yet so I missed the coverage if any of the event. Now after seeing several of these minis I see the similarity. Anyone?

Rachel Zoe manages to look nice for once, she usually looks very thin and unhealthy, but she is glowing here.

Karen Mok looks lovely, except her tights look a bit odd – I couldn’t tell if they were tights at first, I thought there was something wrong with her legs!! Martina Klein’s outfit is gorgeous.

Kerry Washington – Perfect as always.

Debra Messing also wore that Oscar de la Renta dress. So many reruns on the red carpet lately. Maybe the designers are giving away their stuff for free to other celebrities if someone already wore that thing in public and they’re all jumping on that wagon now due to recession.

    you’re so right.

Too many re-runs. I have about 3 weeks worth of Who Wore It Better polls good to go.
