Just last month we were marveling at the genius of Lucy Liu’s clear belt, which she wore with her pink Lanvin dress to the 2009 Film Independent Spirit Awards last month.
The belt gave Lucy a nipped in waist, whilst giving more shape to her dress, whilst not ruining the draping effect.
We should expect this to now become a trend, as Michelle Obama wore a Sonia Rykiel clear belt with her Michael Kors dress, and Dear Cashmere cardigan on the recent cover of Oprah’s O magazine.
Many of you asked me where you could get a clear belt from when Lucy wore it, and I still can’t find one anywhere. Give it a month or two, I am sure we will see plenty in stores, thanks to Mrs O.
Update: Sydne found a clear belt with black piping on French Connection’s US site & Anissa found one by Steve Madden.

i bought a clear belt with gold piping a couple of years ago and it’s one of my favorite accessories
i’ve gotten tons of compliments on it
i’ve never been able to find a completely clear one though, hopefully they’ll hit stores soon
