2009 NME Awards - Nicola Roberts In Preen, Little Boots In Matthew Williamson & Alexa Chung In PPQ

Pop Princess Nicola Roberts, decided to shake things up when she attended the 2009 NME Awards in London last night.

She sexed-up her look wearing a ultra mini Preen Cordula lace-up dress, which has a lace-up neck details, and gold studded straps.

She wore minimal makeup, and completed her look with peep-toe booties.

You can buy this dress from Net-A-Porter’s US site for $1,135, and the international site for £600/€736.

Victoria Hesketh aka Little Boots wore a sparkling Matthew Williamson sequined tank dress.

She defined her waist in this mini dress with a tiny belt, to give the dress some shape. She completed her look with multi-coloured peep-toes, and a fuchsia clutch.

This dress is currently only available on Net-A-Porter’s international site for £1,850/€2,215.

The fashion forward Alexa Chung is not one to wait for clothes to be in stores, she’s already wearing this ruffled micro-mini, with opaque tight, straight off PPQ Fall 2009 runway show this week.

Forgive me becasue I live in the US, but I had no idea who Nicola was. I was looking through some pictures of her at the House of Holland show, and her hair seriously looks like one of those bad wigs that kids with Cancer wear after tretment. I know it’s harsh, but there’s no better way to put it.

Alexa looks a mess as usual. I know that’s her style, but she always looks so much better when she goes for something simpler and then jazzes it up with some interesting accessories. Or maybe it’s just the dress, which makes her look like a Victorian waitress.

Oh, and that looks very much like a dip-dyed Burberry mac she’s holding.

I do like Sarah Harding’s look, although it’s always fun when people who are unashamedly “pop” try to go edgy for rock events like this. You just know they’d be happier in a pale pink mini dress.

She pulls it off better than, say, Cheryl Cole would have done, but I think that’s mostly because her short hairstyle lends itself better to being “rocked-up”.
