After scheduling enough blog posts so you would not think I abandoned you, I excitedly made my way to Paris this morning.
Upon arrival, my first stop was the Georges Chakra show.
Georges Chakra has a huge presence on the red carpet with stars such as Carrie Underwood (she’s a big fan), Mischa Barton, Christina Milian, Amerie, Kerry Washington and most recently Queen Latifah – who was a guest at the show – but more on her later.
You can click here to see celebs on the red carpet wearing Georges Chakra.
Georges Chakra would have pleased his clientèle with his Spring 2009 Haute Couture collection, because it was simply breath-taking.
The colour palette was a wondrous mix of nudes, pretty pinks, vivid yellows, whites, vibrant violets, black and prints.
What may not be evident in my pictures, are the intricate details of swirling shapes, ruffles, beads, paillettes, and fans. These details were presented on cute strapless cocktail tutu’s dresses, gowns, and pant ensembles. Each one was more flouncy, fluffy and embellished than the next.
Apart from the drool-worthy gowns, I was very taken by a clear PVC pajama set, which had an explosion of gold floral details. It also has gold embellishments on the trim of the lapels, and a tan sash tied to the waist.
The highlight came at the end, when the model wearing a stunning bridal gown, removed her large skirt, to reveal a shorter skirt underneath.
For my first couture, show it was one magnificent collection.
I also attended the Christian Lacroix and Givenchy shows, but I will tease you with that for tomorrow. Out of the 3, this was by far my favourite show.
There is more to come from Mr Chakra. On February 14th, he will premiere his first ready to wear collection in New York.
Source, my camera. Excuse my poor camera work.

Just being invited to these fabulous runway shows is a great accomplishment. No one and I mean no one can write about fashion as eloquently and with great enthusiasm as yourself.
