Best Dressed Of The Week – Victoria Beckham & Michelle Obama

I must say I’m a little shocked that Victoria Beckham was your Best Dressed this week.

Yes she looks fantastic – in fact this is the best she has looked in a long while – but it’s nothing we haven’t seen before.

Out of the top 10, Victoria would have been in 4th place for me, place behind Michelle Obama in Jason Wu, Jennifer Lopez in Marchesa and Shakira in Oscar de la Renta.

I’m sure a lot of you will say that me choosing Michelle was an easy/safe choice, but I really loved the gown.

The clean palette, the element of fantasy and the floral appliqués, plus getting caught up in the special moment, all helped in my decision making process.

I love and adore Victoria as much as the next fashionista but was very surprised. There was nothing different or special about her look. She always looks that good. We have seen the dress already. Michelle totally deserved the best dressed for all the reasons already stated. Hooray for Michelle, our first lady!!

I voted for Jennifer in Marchesa. VB looked great, but as we all agree, it’s nothing new.

i respect that everyone think victoria looked good but think that the first lady should have won.for me though i am delighted that victroia won as she looked so beautiful in her dress just stunning.its the greatest i have ever seen her look she looks so preety and no one could wear this dress as great as her.its simple but yet so beautiful.the hair shoes pose everything was just great and was even smiling very slightly instead of the usual pout we see.michelle looked great too her gown was wonderful and she looked very happy.i have never seen a poll like this before. it was only between these two ladies everyone else didn’t even reach 10%.victoria had the lead for most of it with michele only behind 6% but then she took over for a little wwhile and i thought thats it but then thankfully she won.i am happy that you chose michelle as your choice as i think they both deserved it as they both look great and a two very succesful beautiful strong and stylish ladies.i was just thinking maybe you should have a best dressed couple award too i would love that.love victoria always looking great.thanks for posting

Yes, the Jason Wu dress was great, but was it great on Michelle? She has a great figure, but she hid it under that dress!

Victoria Beckham does look good – but I can agree with you that it’s something that we’ve seen before. I’m surprised too that she was picked as best dressed.

True what you said about VB but the thing is, NO one can DO IT like her. Its the fit of the clothes on her, her attitude, her posing, her hair, her makeup …. this woman gives it her ALL, everytime! She may not always wear what people will like but she always “brings it”. I will just be ranting if I continue. Michelle Obama looked very good, but I just had to give it VB.

I agree, Fashion Critic. Victoria Beckham looked great – she usually does. But Michelle Obama has revolutionised First Lady fashion.

Victoria always looking good shouldn’t stop her from being appreciated when she looks this incredible. Both of these ladies deserved to win. Stunning week.

FC, you have reminded me why I love you so much.

Your comment about how VB looked beautiful, but was wearing the same old thing she always does, made me admire you. We all know you love VB, but you always give credit where credit is due and speak the truth.

And the truth is that Michelle Obama looked amazing. The gown was stunning, and she wore it proudly. The appliques were the perfect touch. She is truly redefining First Lady fashion, but still staying classy and elegant.

    Love you♥

    Thanks Dana.

That was so cute of you to say.

    Kisses to you.xxx

    I picked Michelle.

I think it seems like an easy choice but I think that Michelle makes such great choices that she makes it look easy.

It could have gone wrong and looked cheap but she looked wonderful. She certainly got my vote.

Actually, Beckham’s choice seems to be the safe one – hasn’t she worn that dress in black or grey previously?

  17. Isobel January 27, 2009 at 03:59 #

To be honest I thought people would have picked Michelle seeing as though she is America’s new first lady. I’m glad she didn’t win though as I find her choices fashion wise to be somewhat ill suited to her figure. Jackie-o will always be the most fashionable and glamorous first lady.

    I picked Jennifer in Marchesa.
