
It appears that what we saw during the Marc Jacobs Spring 2009 presentation, we will not necessarily see on the red carpet, nor in stores.
I am sure some of you are breathing a sigh of relief, but I am not really a fan of collections being watered down too much. But saying that I understand clothes are there to be worn, not just admired.
Anne Hathaway appeared on Live With Regis & Kelly yesterday to promote Bride Wars, wearing a Marc Jacobs Spring 2009 dress, which was recognizable by the metallic material alone. The actual dress did not appear on the runway.
Rachel Weisz also wore the same dress, when she walked the red carpet for the Billy Elliot The Musical Opening Night in New York last November.

I like the print, it looks nicer on the dress than on the other clothes that were presented on the runway.
I agree with you. And I don’t really understand why this collection needed to be watered down to such an extent. From what I saw so far, it’s basically just simple sheath dresses made out of the same materials like the pieces on the runway. I don’t get it because this was actually one of the most wearable Marc collections in years. The styling was OTT, but minus all those accessories, it’s all perfectly wearable separates. Jackets, shirts, skirts…
