“The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button” Japan Premiere

In 2008 Angelina Jolie wore nothing but black, so I was praying for colour from her on the red carpet in 2009.

The problem is all her non-black dresses, have been so-so, whereas this black Reem Acra satin wrap dress is so divine on her. She is radiant.

This is the best she has looked this year for me.

“Changeling” Tokyo Press Conference

Despite the conservative nature of Angelina Jolie’s dove grey Ralph Lauren dress with cap sleeves, she looked gorgeous at her Changeling press conference in Tokyo today.

She wore her dress with her favorite pumps by Stuart Weitzman.

Byron & Tracey Salon Party, LA

Speaking of gorgeous, no one does the boho/hippy look better than Nicole Richie. For her it’s not a trend, just a style that she feels comfortable with, and suits her perfectly.

Her kimono-style blue and white printed Issa dress doesn’t drown her tiny frame, in fact it’s a perfect fit.

She completes her look with a snake-skin clutch.

Stella McCartney Paris Store Opening

Wearing her own head to toe designs, Stella McCartney opens her new Paris store with her father by her side.

Dasha Zhukova is known to many as just the girlfriend to billionaire Roman Abramovich, but she is also the designer of Kova & T.

The designer looks really cute wearing on of my favourite knit dresses from the Rodarte Fall 2008 collection.

VH1 Presents Pepsi Smash Super Bowl Bash, Florida

Kim Kardashian wore a black strapless mini Ina Soltani dress with a feathered hem. She wore her dress with a black cropped jacket, and YSL Trib Two heels.

The dress is cute, but it looks like she is growing out her bangs already, and it’s very much in the in-between awkward phase.

Now I am not suggesting for one second that these red asymmetrical dresses are the same, but they are similar in their style.

The second noteworthy thing is that Renee Zellweger has only worn two red asymmetrical dresses within one year, and they were both for her appearances on the Late Show with David Letterman.

When I did a blog post on Diane Kruger’s love for black bows, Wendy B wondered if it was a conscious thing, or if she just gravitated towards it, without realizing she’d wore it before.

I think that Diane just gravitated towards the bows, and I think the same would apply to Renee and her red asymmetrical dresses.

I have noticed that towards the end of this week, a lot of web sites had finally woken up to the fact that Angelina Jolie did indeed wear her Max Azria dress backwards to the SAG Awards.

Most had to wait for Jennifer Rade – Angelina’s stylist – for the confirmation, but regular readers will know that I knew this on Sunday.

The UK’s Independent newspaper noted that I was the first to notice the dress-reversal, and they even called my site influential in paragraph 5.

What an honour.

I looooove Camilla Belle in this multi-coloured geometric print Alexander McQueen Spring 2009 sleeveless dress.

As always she makes something that looks hard to pull off, look so effortless.

My only critique would be her hair.

14 year old Dakota Fanning is growing up so elegantly, unlike many former teen stars.

Her style is effortless, cute and always age appropriate. This strapless silver strapless mini dress with an origami detail on the bodice just proves that.

It was recently announced that Kimora Lee-Simmons is pregnant, and we got so see a first glimpse of her baby bump in her cute gold baby doll dress.

Rumer Willis fails to impress.

Are those girls laughing with her or at her?

I think this has to be one of the best dressed events of the year so far.

Diane Kruger will always – in my eyes – be one of the top 10 best dressed female celebrities in the world. I was not a fan of the Nina Ricci Spring 2009 collection, but trust Diane Kruger to make me fall in love.

Talk about bringing something to life.

This gown with a rise and fall hem, is absolutely stunning on Diane. The nude gown with multi coloured prints, really stands out. The cap sleeves barely reveal her shoulders, which is quite sexy, and less in your face than cleavage.

Her look is complete with a vibrant purple clutch, and strappy heels.

I don’t think I can gush about how much I love this enough.

Not only did Mischa Barton get a pair of Elie Saab Spring 2009 Couture heels, but she also got to wear this exquisite Elie Saab couture mint green gown.

When this gown was presented 2 days ago, I was attracted to the floral appliqués around the shoulders and bodice. I love how Mischa has taken this dress from an off-the-shoulder gown, to an asymmetric gown, but a part of me is very disappointed that this dress is now out of the running for the Oscars.

No one would knowingly pick this dress for the big O, now that Mischa has worn it, with all due respect to her.

Dita von Teese opted for a cocktail dress from the same collection.

The ice blue satin plunging dress was covered in very intricate silver embroidery, which really sparkles. Those details are no doubt the reason why Dita opted to keep her jewels to a bare minimum.

Her Louboutin’s sparkled as gloriously as her dress, and as you would expect Dita’s hair is immaculately styled, without a single strand out of place.

The look was complete with her trademark bold ruby red lips.

Milla Jovovich also wore a straight-off-the-runway gown from Elie Saab’s Spring 2009 Couture collection.

She opted for a less bling-out gown. But the beauty of this gown is in its simplicity, and the subtle details of the shimmering cap sleeves and criss cross detail on the waist.

The dove grey works well with her skin-tone, and the clutch is the perfect compliment.

French Model Laetitia Casta opted for a cutesy type Louis Vuitton black dress with a bows ruching her shoulder and skirt.

She may have picked a Resort dress, but he added a bit of an edge to her look with Louis Vuitton Spring 2009 heels.

Carla Bruni, France’s First Lady, took a night off wearing Dior to wear a stunning purple strapless YSL column gown, from the Edition Soir collection.

In all the pictures she has her clutch covering her gown, which is a shame because the majority of the detail is where her clutch is being held.

Vanessa Paradis pink strapless mini dress, is also covered by her woolly mammoth pink coat, which is also a shame because the pink dress looks heavenly against her skin.
