Runway To The MTV EMAs – Beyonce In Gareth Pugh

I had to do a double take when I saw Beyonce Knowles arrive at the 2008 MTV Europe Music Awards in Liverpool tonight.

Beyonce Knowles floored me with pure shock that she was wore such an edgy British designer.

The R&B singer arrived on the red carpet wearing a modified Gareth Pugh Spring 2009 black dress, with gold Giuseppe Zanotti heels and gold metal glove.

I had to rub my eyes to make sure I was not seeing things. I mean who would have thought bland Beyonce could pull this off, and with a personality. Look at her posing.

Sasha fierce, thats for sure.

Regular readers will remember that Roisin Murphy wore a similar dress by the same designer right off the runway.

She looks NOTHING like Rihanna. She shocked me twice tonight aswell. Is this a turn in the road?

I’m not seeing the Rihanna comparison either. Is Beyonce changing for the better? We’ll just have to see.

Wow, what a change. Love the dress, but I don’t like the shoes or the glove.

I love this blog SO much!Bouncy looks great and do you know what?. It doesn’t suprise me too much she wore this, I have noticed that at times her on-stage costumes are inspired by the movie metropolis and this dress screams metroplois to me!. Thanks for all your hard work that makes this page so great.

Time for a change, but try something that she can pull off. The gloves just do not look right on her. Not convincing to me, at least.

I love Beyonce, and she looks great! I’m glad she didnt go for the long sleeves. The glove isn’t working for me. A turn in the road? I don’t think so. She is loyal to her mother’s designs, so I guess she will go back to them and just occassionally wow us like this.
