Last year there were more good dresses than bad dress at the 2007 Oscars.
My particular favourite was Nicole Kidman’s red Balenciaga gown. A lot of the press, and no doubt many of your hated it, but it was easily my Best Dressed.
Queen Cate was regal in Armani Privé.
Helen Mirren (in Christian Lacroix), won an Oscar for her role as the Queen, also won Best Dressed Oscar Winner of the night.
The other Queen, Queen Latifah, dressed her curves perfectly.
Penelope Cruz’ Versace dress grew on me as the night wore on. Whilst I fell in love immediately with Emily Blunt in Calvin Klein.
The bad are all visually explanatory.
Maggie Gyllenhaal’s dress did not work for me.
I just wanted to pull of Anne Hathaway’s bow which threw up all over her Valentino gown.
“Try hard” and supposed “fresh face” Jessica Biel dress was too big for her and her hair resembled a freshly washed poodle.
We will always remember the former American Idol, Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson, as the girl who looked ridiculous in that gold Oscar de la Renta bolero on the red carpet.
Keisha Whitaker grew a plant out of her butt, and Kirsten Dunst made a stunning Chanel Haute Couture gown look ridiculous. Like a little girl playing dress up.
Hopefully the ladies have learnt from 2007, and may there be no bolero’s, plant life nor distracting bows on the red carpet this year.
Take a look back at my Best and Worst dressed of the 2007 Oscars.
